Missionaries Featured for the 2017 Missions Convention

(October 22nd - October 29th)

Isaac Smythia - Former missionary to Uruguay, now FireBible

We are so privileged to have veteran missionary Rev. Isaac Smythia with us all week. Some of us may remember him being here years ago. Isaac and his wife, Terri, have been missionaries for several terms in Uruguay, planting churches

and then building them. Now he is working with Life Publishers to promote the wonderful FireBible that has taken him literally to almost every country in the world.

Kyle and Brittney McAllister - ChiAlpha Ministers at Ohio University

Gateway met Kyle and Brittney around 2014. Their enthusiasm for the Lord and His work was obvious and we liked them right away. In Sept. 2014, by faith, they moved into their new house a block away from campus, and by Dec., they had 100% of their required budget and were officially appointed Chi Alpha Campus Ministers. Now, 3 years later, they have ministered to countless college students, baptizing them, training them, and sending them out to serve. They also have three little missionaries at home: Abigail, Asher, & Josie.

Haidar and Nicole Shafei - Chi Alpha Ministers at Kent St. University

Nicole now serves as a full time missionary at Kent State University Chi Alpha where she was involved in Chi Alpha as a student. After graduating from Kent she went straight into the mission field. She is a native to Akron, Ohio.

Her husband, Haidar, is from Saudi Arabia and came to the U.S. for school. It was at school that he was introduced to Jesus and converted from a Muslim to a Christian. Haidar is still a student in Chi Alpha and actively involved in ministry. They have made a 4 year commitment to serve in Chi Alpha at Kent State.

T O M O R R O W!! Everything’s in place and we’ll be launching our new website!

You may ask why we need to relaunch our website & here’s a couple of reasons:

1. The fresh, updated look will draw visitors to our website.

2. When visitors view our website, it gives a snapshot of Gateway Church - what we believe, the various ministries we have here, etc.

3. We are adding online giving. Yes, we’re stepping into the 21st Century! LOL! So if you’re out of town or you forget your check at home, you can simply go online and make your donation.

The 2nd Half Meet & Eat Acts 2:42 “They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship to

the breaking of bread and to prayer.”
