Hello and welcome to the UAA abstract submission system!

IMPORTANT: Failing to abide by and/or understand the following policiesmay affect proposal consideration and/or paper presentation.

1. IS YOUR PROPOSAL PART OF A PRE-ORGANIZED PANEL?If yes, STOP! Do not use this form. Send your abstract to your panel organizer who will submit allabstracts for the planned session. If no, please proceed.

2. EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: If you submit an individual paper proposal and at a later date agree to bepart of a pre-organized panel, you must contact the UAA Office ([email protected]) immediately so thatwe can reassign your paper.

3. SUBMISSION LIMITYou may only submit one (1) proposal.

4. ONE SESSION/ONE PRESENTATION RULEEach presenter can participate in ONE session and make ONE presentation within that session. Thispolicy is strictly enforced and applies regardless of the role you are playing: paper/poster presenter,moderator, speaker, etc.

Three Exceptions:a) Moderating Your Session: A paper presenter may also serve as the moderator for her/his panelsession.b) Serving in a UAA-Sponsored Session: Persons invited to serve in a UAA-sponsored session mayparticipate in an additional session.c) Participating in a Breakfast Roundtable (BRT) discussion: A presenter may participate in one or moreBRTs, as well as in a regularly-scheduled panel/colloquy OR poster session.

Note: There is no limit on the number of papers that you can be listed as a co-author.

5. UAA MEMBERSHIPYou do not have to be a UAA member to submit a proposal. However, UAA members do receive aconference registration discount.

6. ABSTRACT CHANGESOnce you click "SUBMIT" you CANNOT RETURN to your proposal submission to make corrections. AfterNovember 30, minor changes may be made to accepted papers using the UAA online Change Form.

7. CANCELLATION OF SESSIONSEach panel or colloquy session must have a minimum of 3 registered paper presenters or speakers toremain on the conference program. UAA reserves the right to cancel sessions if there are not a sufficientnumber of presenters/speakers registered by the Late Registration deadline. We will relocate any papersthat are affected by session cancellations.

Acceptable Individual Paper Proposal Submission

Do NOT submit a paper abstract proposal if you are just beginning to formulate your research. Paperpresentations require findings. You should only submit a paper proposal if you are very confident you willhave findings to share by the date of the conference. If you are not sure, use the Poster Proposal optioninstead. As a poster presenter, you will receive feedback that can help you to finalize your research.

Policy Reminder

SESSION SCHEDULING POLICY

Formal conference sessions begin on Thursday morning of theconference period, and end on Saturday around noon.

Individual presenters cannot be guaranteed a specific presentationtime slot within those days.

Changes in presentation schedules can occur due to late withdrawals.Presenters should therefore check the preliminary and final programfor scheduling details. If a presenter is unable to attend his/herassigned session as it appears in the final program, he/she may berequired to withdraw from the program. *

REGISTRATION POLICY

All conference session presenters are required to register and pay afee. Failure to register and pay required fees by the late registrationdeadline will result in removal from the conference program.

Note: Waivers are given only to local non-profit employees who are onthe conference program. *

IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING UAA REVIEW DECISION

Review decisions (i.e. acceptance/rejection letter) will be sent viaemail to the individual you have designated as the presenter for thisproposal by Nov. 30. If November 30 arrives and the presenter has notreceived the decision letter, please contact us at [email protected].

Note: We do not send acceptance messages to co-authors. *I understand that the UAA review decision will be sent ONLY to the presenter

of this proposal by November 30. It is my responsibility to contact the UAAoffice if Nov. 30 arrives and the presenter of this proposal has not received areview decision.
