FEATURE Rear Park Assist Rear Cross Traffic Alert Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone AlertHOW IT WORKS

· Uses four ultrasonic sensors mounted on the rear bumper

· When in Reverse, a warning triangle on the Rear Vision Camera screen shows where the nearest rear object has been detected. As the object gets closer, this triangle changes from amber to red and increases in size

· When an object is first detected while backing up, a single low-pitched rear beep occurs. When it’s in the “close zone” (i.e., within 2 feet), repeated low-pitched beeps occur

· Uses two short-range radars to monitor about 65 feet to the left and right behind the vehicle

· When approaching left or right cross-traffic is detected when in Reverse, red flashing triangles (with left- or right-pointing arrows) are shown on the Rear Vision Camera screen and three left- or right-side low-pitched beeps are presented

· When in Forward gear, the system uses two short-range radars hidden in the rear corners of the vehicle to monitor moving vehicles up to 82 feet back from the side mirror one lane over from both sides of the vehicle

· An amber icon is lit in the outside mirror on the side that a moving or rapidly approaching vehicle is detected. The icon flashes if the turn signal is activated in the direction of the detected vehicle(NOTE: A lit icon indicates it may be unsafe to change lanes, not that it is safe to change lanes. Before making a lane change, the driver still needs to check his/her mirrors, glance over his/her shoulder and use turn signals.)

· Side Blind Zone Alert is included as part of the Lane Change Alert system

· Below 5 mph, provides distance-to-object alerts to help the driver park and avoid crashing into nearby detected objects directly behind the vehicle during low-speed maneuvering

· Provides side mirror alerts to help the driver avoid crashing into:

- A moving vehicle in his/her side blind spot

Forward Collision Alert · Works in Forward gear, using a camera mounted behind the windshield in front of the inside rearview mirror

- An amber icon when following the vehicle ahead too closely (Tailgating Alert)

- When the driver is approaching a detected vehicle ahead too fast and may be seconds away from a potential crash, the system provides a flashing red windshield “Collision Alert” display

Following Distance Indicator · Uses existing Forward Collision Alert sensors on the vehicle to provide the driver with the following (or headway) time to a detected vehicle that he/she is following

· Provides following time if the driver selects the Driver Information Center information page display, “Follow Distance Indicator/Gap Setting”

· If there is no vehicle detected ahead, or the vehicle ahead is out of sensor range, dashes will be displayed

· Works in Forward gear at speeds above 37 mph, using a forward-looking camera mounted behind the windshield in front of the inside rearview mirror

· Provides:

- A green icon when a left or right line is detected

- An amber icon if the vehicle is anticipated to leave a lane unintentionally and a “nudge” from the Electric Power Steering (EPS) system to help prevent lane departure

· If the “nudge” does not prevent departure (e.g., on curve) and the driver is not reacting, the amber icon flashes as the lane marker is crossed to provide an alert, along with low-pitched beeps

· System steering wheel turns (or nudges) and alerts are disabled if the driver is detected to be actively steering or if the turn signal is activated

CUSTOMER BENEFITS

· Detects that a front-end collision is imminent while following a detected vehicle and alerts the driver to a potential crash

· Lets the driver know if he/she is following the vehicle much too closely

· Provides gentle steering wheel turns (and lane departure alerts if necessary) to help the driver avoid unintentionally drifting out of his/her lane when the driver is not actively steering and his/her turn signal is not activated
