Yamaha YZ’s tradition of winning races and championships continues. This year the YZ250F won both its second consecutive AMA National Motocross Title with Jeremy Martin as well as its second straight Supercross West Championship, courtesy of Cooper Webb. That brings the number of YZ MX and SX Championships to 41. (Not that we’re counting.) So if you’re looking for the most technically advanced, powerful, quick and nimble motocross machine, throw a leg over a YZ – and prepare for victory.

3. IDEAL FRAME RIGIDITY BALANCE: The bilateral beam frame features a carefully chosen combination of forged, cast and extruded aluminum pieces for superior cornering traction and unmatched lightweight handling. 4. MASS CENTRALIZATION: The motorcycle’s key components –engine, fuel tank and exhaust system – are concentrated toward the center of the motorcycle, achieving unparalleled light and nimble handling performance. 5. SIMPLIFIED SERVICING: Redesigned air cleaner cover helps prevent contact with the quick-release quarter-turn Dzus® air box fasteners, providing tool-less access to the air filter that’s positioned at the front of the bike avoiding roost from the rear wheel.

BETTER TECHNOLOGY = BETTER BIKESEver since a YZ®250 prototype won the first-ever Supercross in 1972, Yamaha has been on the cutting-edge of innovation and technology. The latest crop of YZs are no exception, featuring the lightest, strongest and most powerful components to make the connection between you and your machine completely seamless.

1. INNOVATIVE ENGINE DESIGN: The revolutionary rearward-slanted-cylinder design allows for a straight down-draft intake with a symmetrical port layout for smooth controllable power delivery throughout the RPM range. It also achieves unmatched mass centralization, for light and nimble handling.

“NOTHING SHORT OF BRILLIANT.” – MX ActionWinner of 2016 Dirt Rider, Cycle News, MotorcycleUSA.com and VitalMX.com shootouts, the YZ®450F is even better for 2017. With new Dunlop MX3S Tires for improved cornering and traction; new air cleaner cover with recessed pockets for the tool-less Dzus® fasteners; new, more durable rear brake rotor material providing better braking feel; and new graphics treatment molded directly into the plastic to resist peeling and damage, for a purer factory racer look.

FOUR CHAMPIONSHIPS. SEVEN SHOOTOUT WINS. ZERO COMPETITION.How do you make the reigning two-straight National MX and SX West Champion, and winner of every major 250F shootout, better? We started by giving it a new cylinder head, new camshaft profiles, valve springs and revised ECU settings for even more power. Next we updated the transmission and clutch for smoother and more precise shifting action when the gate drops. Throw in new frame forging at the swingarm pivot engine mounts for improved cornering stability plus updated suspension settings, and the world’s most dominant 250 four stroke just pulled even further out in front.
