2017 is off to a roaring start for Morgan Hill and your Chamber of
Commerce. The Celebrate Morgan Hill awards dinner was a magical
evening thanks to an outstanding group of honorees, an inspiring
opening talk by 2002 Student of the Year and current Morgan Hill
City Council member Caitlin Jachimowicz and an outstanding job by Jona Denz-
Hamilton as MC. Many of you were there and know how special it was, and thank you
for that.
Planning wise we would like to highlight two important community projects we are
involved with:
First off, the City of Morgan Hill’s staff has been assembling an Economic Development
Blueprint over the course of this past year and the planning phase is coming to
completion. March 24, 2017 will be an important day in that process with an all-day
series of discussions drilling down into the details of who is going to do what and how
results will be measured. The blueprint’s major sectors are professional job growth,
bolstering our education and training opportunities, strengthening the medical services
sector, building on the downtown momentum, supporting tourism expansion and
appropriate retail growth. The Chamber’s Economic Development Committee meets at
8AM on the 2nd Thursday of each month. Please join us if this is an area of particular
interest for you.
The Morgan Hill Unified School District’s (MHUSD) Facilities Master Plan development
is the second major effort to bring to your attention. This project is built around four
major stakeholder meetings designed to assess the condition of our local schools in
comparison to what they would ideally be to support 21st century learning in a healthy,
safe and engaging environment. The current bond program has approximately $150M
left to allocate and it is very important to spend that money in the most productive,
effective and fair manner. As you can imagine, every school site has a long list of
wants and needs. How do all of these legitimate needs get prioritized for allocation of
the available funds? Answering that question is both important and difficult. MHUSD is
planning a large Facilities Master Plan Town Hall meeting on April 26, 2017 and we
encourage you to consider being there.
I’m also pleased to announce that the first South County Disrupt Forum investor pitch
event is tentatively scheduled for June 2, 2017 at Specialized. This effort to engage
local entrepreneurs is led by Danielle Davenport and promises to be amazing in both
the near term and long run.
More information is available at: https://www.disruptaccelerator.com/.
There is much more going on at your Chamber, so please have a look through the rest
of this newsletter. As always, thank you for your support and participation.

Local Financial Professionals Don Bergis
and Jared Elson Receive Prestigious Sales Award
Morgan Hill/Campbell, California ‒ Area licensed investment advisors and insurance professionals Don Bergis and Jared Elson received a rare honor in January when they were inducted into Advisors Excel’s Hall of Fame.
Bergis and Elson are two of only 51 inductees to date out of nearly 1,000 financial professionals associated with the organiza-tion. The business partners met the qualifications for this prestigious sales award by doing more than $100 million in cumula-tive annuity business with the organization. A target that is often a career-long goal for most producers, Bergis and Elson reached this incredible milestone within a few short years of working with Advisors Excel.
About Don Bergis and Jared Elson:
Don Bergis is the founder and president of Regent Wealth Management. He has 15 years of experience in preserving and cau-tiously growing the wealth his clients have accumulated. Don can be heard on the Financial Symphony radio show on local stations such as KBAY and KLIV on Sunday mornings .He is also a co-author of the book, “Victory,” featuring his own chapter on “The Seven Things Depleting Your Retirement Nest Egg.”
Jared is a partner at Regent Wealth Management. Prior to entering the financial industry, he had nearly a decade of experience in the tech industry, giving him a thorough understanding of how to achieve results in today’s demanding and ever changing times.
For more information about Don Bergis and Jared Elson, or to schedule a time to discuss your financial future, contact Regent Wealth Management at 877.457.4567. Toeniskoetter Helps Paramit Expand in Morgan Hill Things move fast in Silicon Valley, and with Paramit Corporation’s recent acquisition of Lathrop Engineering, it needed to quickly expand its Morgan Hill operations. Looking to Toeniskoetter Development, Inc. to find the right building, Paramit has leased a 25,000 square foot facility at Cochrane Business Ranch, one of Toeniskoetter’s master-planned business parks.
“Our business relationship with Paramit dates back 20 years to when they first leased space for their headquarters,” said Toeniskoetter President and CEO Brad Krouskup. “Bringing their design activities to Cochrane Business Ranch enables them to provide a full-range of services from one consolidated location in Morgan Hill.” Paramit’s Morgan Hill headquarters are located in Madrone Business Park, another master-planned business park devel-oped by Toeniskoetter. “When considering our expansion, we knew we’d have a partner we could depend on in Toeniskoetter Development,” said Rick Kent, Paramit’s CFO. The property will be customized for Paramit’s design needs, which requires not only a remodel of the exterior and outside common spaces but a complete renovation of the building’s interior. With an April move-in target, time is of the essence. If the time frame was ambitious, so is the building design. Fortunately, Paramit’s long relationship with Toeniskoetter has come in handy. Because it had designed and built the original building, Toeniskoetter was able to bring in the original de-sign engineer, who was able to solve the problem of re-orienting a load bearing wall supporting the HVAC system. “Even though there were tough issues to address, the Toeniskoetter team went above and beyond to make sure we met our timeline,” said Kent. The architect for the project is Habitec Architecture, and Toeniskoetter Construction, Inc. is the general contractor.
