DAY 9 – CRUISING THE INSIDE PASSAGERelax and enjoy the passing scenery, as well as the many activities offered during your cruise.

DAY 10 – CRUISING TRACY ARM/JUNEAUTracy Arm is a narrow, 26 mile-long fjord with dramatic glaciers that create icebergs of every size and shape that slowly drift and make their way to the sea. This afternoon you will arrive in Juneau, the capital of Alaska. Located at the foot of grand mountain peaks on the Gastineau Channel, the town of Juneau has the massive Mendenhall Glacier and the immense Juneau Icefields at its back door. Juneau is the place to let your imagination run wild. Explore the lush Tongass National Forest. Visit the rustic shops in town or get out and kayak, dogsled, raft, hike, whale watch, flightseeing or fish. There’s no end to the adventure because of the long daylight hours. Climb aboard the Mt. Roberts Tramway for a great spot to hike and take a dramatic souvenir photo.

DAY 11 – SKAGWAYSkagway is everyone’s picture of what Alaska must have been like during the Gold Rush. It is also famous for being the home of The White Pass and Yukon Railroad. It is a very memorable trip. Visions of past Klondike days are plentiful with old-time saloons, shops, memorabilia, and costumed people throughout town.

DAY 12 – GLACIER BAY SCENIC CRUISINGThe trip to Glacier Bay takes you through scenery that is breathtakingly beautiful. You travel through passages that bring you close to the rock walls and under high cliffs.

DAY 13 – KETCHIKANNative heritage plays a large role in Ketchikan culture. For example, the largest collection of totem poles in the world is found in Ketchikan at Totem Bight State Historical Park, Saxman Native Village and the Totem Heritage Center Museum.

DAY 6 – LAKE LOUISE TO JASPER/COLUMBIA ICEFIELDAs you travel in the Canadian Rockies, you come to realize that many of the names you have seen are those of glaciers, resting in mountains high above the valley floor. In summer, their slow, steady melting creates lakes with color to rival the finest jewel. You begin your day traveling past jagged mountains and lush valleys, as you drive along the Icefields Parkway, one of the most scenic drives in North America. A highlight of the day is a ride on the Ice Explorer. The Columbia Icefield is made up of a series of glaciers covering 325 square kilometers. DAY 7 – JASPER TO QUESNEL/ROCKY MOUNTAINEER (B, L)We will arrange transfers from the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge to the rail station. From Jasper, you will travel aboard the Rocky Mountaineer on their “Rainforest to Gold Rush” route. Few train journeys offer such dramatic scenery. These two days of daylight rail travel will take you on a 634 mile odyssey that will astound you with the diverse beauty of Canada’s West. You bid farewell to Jasper at 7:10AM and travel through the Yellowhead Pass to Mt. Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies. Entering the Rocky Mountain Trench, you are surrounded by the steeply rising Rocky Mountains to the north and the Cariboo Mountains to the south. Travel through the forests of British Columbia into Prince George, and follow the Fraser River. Your will arrive into Quesnel at 6:30PM, a little known place on the map, soon to be known as the overnight stop on this great rail trip. DAY 8 – QUESNEL TO WHISTLER/ROCKY MOUNTAINEER (B, L)The Rocky Mountaineer Rail staff will pick you up from your hotel and have you aboard the train at 7:10AM, for day two of your journey! Following the Fraser River, highlights of this scenic day include: the Deep Creek Bridge – one of the highest railway bridges in the world, sweeping views of Fraser Canyon, glacial-fed Seton Lake, and the shorelines of Anderson Lake. You will pass through the rolling hills and vast ranchlands of the Cariboo Plateau, the desert-like conditions of Fraser Canyon, the lush farmland of the Pemberton Valley and towering peaks before your scheduled arrival into Whistler at 7:30PM. DAY 9 – WHISTLER TO VANCOUVER/SEA TO SKY CLIMBWake early and bask in the sweet, fresh mountain air. If you don’t mind heights, take a ride to the top of Whistler Mountain or Blackcomb Mountain. The ride on the gondola makes you feel like you are at the top of the world. Whistler Village was designed for pedestrians. Filled with flowers and sweet-smelling candy shops, you will have no problem finding things to fill your morning. The Sea to Sky train departs at 2:30PM, so use a taxi for the short ride from your hotel to the station. If you thought the scenery couldn’t get any better, you will quickly realize that these three hours of going from mountain peaks to shimmering ocean views on the “Sky to Sea” climb, have no problem holding their own! Cross over the pinnacle of Brandywine Falls before descending a steep grade through the Cheakamus Canyon, where the river below tumbles through a craggy gorge. Pass through the town of Squamish, BC, home to the West Coast Rail Association and the Royal Hudson steam train, and look out for the spectacular dome peak of Mount Garibaldi, rising 2,678 meters (8,787 feet). Continuing south, pass the impressive

cascade of Shannon Falls, as the train hugs the eastern shores of Howe Sound with the Coast Mountains rising steeply to the left and stunning views of ocean and mountain to the right. As you approach the end of your rail tour, enjoy views of downtown Vancouver and Stanley Park from the scenic waterfront of West Vancouver’s exclusive residential area, before passing under the Lions Gate Bridge and arriving at North Vancouver rail station. Churchill, Manitoba the Polar Bear Capitol of the World is the only human settlement where polar Bears can be observed in the wild. The best viewing time is mid-October to mid-November. PROTECTING YOUR VACATION DOLLARS:Cartan Tour’s cancellation waiver ensures that should you need to cancel tour services purchased from Cartan Tours prior to your departure for reasons of illness, the death of an immediate family member, or an illness of an immediate family member where a doctor recommends that you should not travel, you will receive a refund of all monies paid excluding the cost of the waiver. Should you for these same reasons have to leave your trip early, this waiver will ensure that unused items purchased from Cartan Tours will be refunded. Pre-existing conditions are covered if the cancellation waiver is purchased at the time of the initial deposit/payment only. If you decide to add the cancellation waiver after your initial payment has been made, any pre-existing conditions will not be covered. The cancellation waiver may be purchased for new reservations at any time. The cancellation waiver cannot be added to existing reservations once you are within 60 days of departure. REFUNDS:Once the tour has commenced, hotel accommodations, meals, sightseeing, or other tour services which are not used are not refundable or exchangeable. GENERAL INFORMATION:All U.S. Citizens must have a valid U.S. Passport for travel to and from Canada as of January 8, 2007. It is the responsibility of each client to ensure that they have the proper documentation and identification for travel outside the United States. Please check with your insurance carrier for details on baggage insurance, car insurance, and medical insurance, in the event of illness while traveling, and if your bags are damaged during airport handling, report it to the

airline immediately. While touring, if you notice any damage to bags or personal items, report the damage to the staff immediately. Please note Cartan Tours is not responsible for lost or damaged luggage because of breakage, theft, hotel or carrier handling, or normal wear and tear. Items that are not covered in the cost of your tour must be paid directly to the supplier by cash or credit card prior to leaving the hotel, sightseeing, or service establishment.

No revisions of the printed itinerary or its included features are anticipated; however, the right is reserved to withdraw any or all tours should the conditions warrant. A passenger shall be deemed to have left a tour after participation in the last feature noted in the printed itinerary or at such earlier time as the passenger may elect to commence his or her departure. Your retention of tickets, reservations or bookings after issuance shall constitute consent to the above terms and conditions and an agreement on your part to convey the contents hereof to your travel companions.

CAR RENTAL TERMS:Renters must be 21 years of age (24 in Ontario) with a valid credit card and a valid driver’s license. Rental companies reserve the right to impose rental surcharges or to require specific insurance coverage for renters under the age of 25. Rentals are based on a pick up and return to the same point unless otherwise specified. Rates are based on 24 hour time periods. Renters are responsible to ensure that they do not exceed their prepaid period. Time in excess of the prepaid period must be paid directly to the car rental company by the customer at the time of drop off. Gasoline, local taxes, CDW and PAI and any one-way drop fees are not included. We recommend checking with your personal insurance agent to ensure that adequate coverage is purchased.

NATIONAL PARK FEES:Visitors to National Parks (i.e. - Banff and Jasper) are subject to a park user fee that is paid directly to the park service department. Most tours do not include these charges. If they are included, it will be noted in the “Tour Highlights” section of that tour.
