PURPOSE The purpose of the Butler Township Fire Commission is to provide oversight and guidance to the Fire Departments related to the expenditure of funds. The Fire Commission is authorized to ap-prove purchasing requests from the Fire Departments pursuant to the rules and regulations.

HISTORY

The Butler Township Fire Commission was established by an act of the Butler Township Board of Commissioners on December 17, 1984. The Fire Commission members are committed to promote effective and productive communication between the Township Fire departments in an effort to guide them in the effective and efficient use of funds.

Firemen’s Association: President—Steve Huey Secretary—Mike Schmidt Vice President—Keven Kelly Treasurer—Wayne Myers The Butler Township Fireman’s Association ran another successful gun raffle as a fundraiser for the three departments in 2017. In support of the fund raising efforts by the Association, Butler Town-ship provided voice mail and clerical support. In addition to the gun raffle, the Association over-sees the coordination of training for the three departments throughout the year.
