Wow! What a great Murder Mystery Dinner. Many thanks to our authors, Marydeb Bleau and Marti Miller, for the fascinating, original script and to everyone else who helped make theevening such a fabulous success. Ladies, it is now time to register to attend the TFRW Convention at the University Holiday Inn, Memphis, on October 20-22. Our delegates and club members will be working hard on

several committees to represent SCRWC in a favorable manner and show how capable we are. This isa wonderful opportunity to mingle with other Republican women from across the state, hear some great speakers, learn a lot at workshops, and also just have a good time with like minded people. The cost is $125 for the entire convention or you can buy guest meal tickets for Friday dinner, gubernatorial candidates speaking, Saturday lunch program, or Saturday dinner with speaker, Marsha Blackburn. Gentlemen are also invited to these speaking events. I will be mailing the registration form with even more information to everyone because our cut off datewill be September 13th, the day after our meeting when our treasurer, Pat Allmond, will be receiving the final forms and checks to send in altogether. Since we are a co-host for the Memphis convention, we want to have a large group in attendance from SCRWC. Also, we need to keep our committee areas running smoothly which will require some man power and may even involve multi tasking. If you have questions, please email or call me. Lyn Windsor and I are looking forward to representing SCRWC at the NFRW Convention in Philadelphia in September. Our club won the Diamond Award again this year for all our hard work, which we will be receiving on your behalf at the Achievement Awards Ceremony. It will also be a great time for networking and education. Looking forward to seeing everyone again at the September meeting, September 12th. You don’t want to miss our speaker, Eddie Settles. Our event chairman, Artie Brown, is doing better, but needs to continue recovering; so, I will be taking meeting reservations due by September 6 (755-3519) and Lyn Windsor will be manning the check in desk with Pat Allmond.

See you there,

September meeting! Thanks,

Thanks to Judy Kilmer who chaired our participation in this program by donating books. She connected us with Hickory Ridge Elementary School in Memphis because it is a K-5 Title I school. Being a former teacher, Judy was able to pick out 30 age appropriate books to enrich the literacy program for the early grades. Funds came from member donations and from our budget. The books will be presented to Ms. Regina Nichols, Principal, on September 12th at the school.
