Andover Town Clerk 735-5332 Snuggled between Ragged Mountain and Mount Kearsarge, the town of Andover is dotted with many small lakes and ponds. Home to Proctor Academy, this scenic town with two covered bridges is a favorite spot for photographers. The picturesque train station (at Potter Place) serves as the Andover Historical Society’s museum. Kayak and canoe lovers enjoy the Blackwater River. Bradford Town Clerk 938-2288 www.bradfordnh.com Called the gateway to the Lake Sunapee region, Bradford is a perfect year-round community. Its history and charm combine to offer guests a warm and entertaining visit. There are several inns and bed and breakfasts to accommodate visitors in true country charm. Danbury Town Clerk 768-5448 This peaceful town is ideal for fishing, hiking, biking or walking along quiet country roads. Home to Ragged Mountain Resort, which offers great skiing and riding in the winter and golfing during the warmer months. Grantham Town Clerk 863-5608 www.granthamnh.net Outdoor recreation is plentiful with Eastman Golf Links, the Eastman Cross Country Ski Center, an ice skating pond and the man-made Eastman Lake with a public boat launch. For hikers (and snowmobilers in winter), the Donas J. and Margaret Reney Memorial Forest offers a 428-acre recreation area. Grantham Village School has a nature trail for hiking and a recreational bike trail winds through the woods paralel to Interstate 89. Newbury Town Clerk 763-5326 www.newburynh.org Wrapped around the eastern and southern shores of Lake Sunapee, Newbury is home to Mount Sunapee Resort and State Park, the

Sunapee State Beach (the only state beach on Lake Sunapee), and The Fells Historic Estate and Gardens. Newbury Harbor has a town beach, a picnic area, a waterfront gazebo and a public pier. Newport Town Clerk 863-2224 www.newportnh.net Nicknamed the “Sunshine Town” by vaudevil-lian Bill B. Van. The Town Common, one of the largest in the state, provides wonderful space for activities and events all year long with ice skating in the winter and free Sunday evening concerts in the summer. Newport boasts three covered bridges as well as the Library Arts Center and the Newport Opera House.

New London Town Clerk 526-4046 www.nl-nh.com This picture-perfect town features a variety of unique retail shops, fine dining, lodging and the wonderful summer entertainment of the Barn Playhouse. The Village Green, surrounded by the classic New London Inn, the wonderful tree-lined campus of Colby-Sawyer College and the quintessential New England-style First Baptist Church, is a lovely place to sit and take in the views.

Springfield Town Clerk 763-4805 www.springfieldnh.net This small town offers big outdoor opportuni-ties, with several lakes and ponds, including Lake Kolelemook. Abandoned roads meander through the nearly 7,000-acre Gile State Forest and offer an opportunity for hikers, snowshoers, skiers and snowmobilers to enjoy year-round. Kimpton Brook, Morgan Pond and Butterfield Pond, all popular fishing spots are within its borders. McDaniel’s Marsh, is a great place to kayak.

Sunapee is a wonderful waterfront community. Originally an agricultural area, then manu-facturing, today the main focus is recreation. Sunapee Harbor is a great place to spend a summer day with shops, a narrated boat tour, kayak rentals, ice cream, waterfront dining and a town boat launch. Although the era of the grand hotels is long gone, you can still find wonderful lodging in Sunapee with charming cottages, as well as quaint inns and bed & breakfasts. Sutton Town Clerk 927-4575 www.sutton-nh.govA scenic central location offering a view of Mount Kearsarge as well as Rollins State Park, a picnic area and the departure point for the half-mile hike to the mountain’s bare granite summit. Wadleigh State Beach on the shore of Kezar Lake in North Sutton is ideal for a family summer outing. Musterfield Farm, a working farm, is open to the public and features many special events that are fun for all ages.

The distinctive buildings in this rural community are home to many interesting shops and popular restaurants as well as private residences. The Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum offers a cornucopia of Indian lore and artifacts, primarily from the Abenaki tribe.
