Families and individuals will have resources and support to escape the cycle of poverty.
2016 was an incredible year for the Center for Family Resources. For the first time in our history, our direct giving and fundraising initiatives raised over $1 million throughout the course of the year! To our donors who made this possible: thank you. To have so many businesses and individuals make such a strong show of support for our mission tells me we have been doing something right for the past 57 years, and makes me more determined than ever to increase our reach even further. I feel extremely blessed to live in a county with so many conscientious citizens who understand the important responsibility to give back to our community. After all, every family we stabilized in 2016 is another steady source of social and economic capital for Cobb County. We know with every client, we are truly making a difference to individuals, to families and to the community at large. We cannot wait to share our continued successes with all our generous friends and business partners in 2017, and to continue strengthening the bonds of philanthropy between us all.
Move people to self-sufficiency through financial stabilization, housing and education.

The Mansour Conference Center has become the premiere place in Cobb County for conducting business while doing good. The conference center continued
to generate strong revenue for the Center for Family Resources throughout 2016, and is now a regular meeting location for dozens of local businesses and
organizations. Because the Mansour Conference Center also provides affordable nonprofit office rental space to several local agencies, it has created greater
opportunites for program collaboration among a variety of nonprofit missions. Throughout 2017, the conference center will be undergoing a number of building
upgrades to become an even more comfortable and convenient place for all tenants and visitors. To learn more about the Mansour Conference Center or to
book your next meeting, visit www.mansourcenter.com or call 770-701-0315.

THANKS FOR GIVING
RED CARPET GALA
O n Sunday, February 25, the Center for Family
Resources hosted our 20th annual Red Carpet Gala. It was a wonderful evening for friends
and supporters of the Center for Family Resources: guests celebrated Oscar® night with Cobb’s finest, bid on
silent and live auctions and raised over $300,000 for the Center for Family Resources! The event was emceed by WSB-TV’s Carol
Sbarge and was co-chaired by Kevin and Ginny Moore and Holly and Mike Quinlan. Kevin Moore is a partner at Moore Ingram Johnson & Steele specializing in real estate litigation; Ginny Moore is
President and CEO of Mills Specialty Metals. Holly Quinlan is CEO of Cobb Travel & Tourism; Mike Quinlan is a Senior Wealth Director at
BNY Mellon Wealth Management. The 2016 Red Carpet Gala auction committee was chaired by Christal McNair of BB&T. Thanks to
all our sponsors, donors and guests for a fantastic philanthropic evening. It’s because of your support we can continue
changing lives in Cobb County!
Thanks for Giving 2016 was a phenomenal success!
A record number of 520 volunteers turned out and gave generously of their time and effort to help us sort more than 75,000
donated food items weighing in at over 50,000 pounds! 2016 broke yet another record: the most food items donated from a single school.
Longtime supporter Ford Elementary School collected a whopping 11,312 items for their 2016 drive! Thanks to them and to the efforts of the whole
Cobb County community, nearly 1,000 families took home a box of Thanksgiving groceries, plus extra items to help children have filling
meals throughout the week off from school. Our generous sponsors and donors also helped us raise $114,000 to ensure each family would recieve a $15 grocery gift card to help buy a turkey, ham, or other meat for the Thanksgiving meal. All remaining food was brought back to our pantry, where it helped us serve hundreds more families throughout the holiday season and beyond.
