Big travel, big mountains, big risk, big reward. That pretty much sums up what downhill riding means to SIXSIXONE. We have worked with some of the fastest humans to ever ride a mountain bike and we have thrown ourselves down steeper trails and bigger jumps than we probably should have to bring you the 2016 line of protection. This product was primarily developed through our partnership with the Lapierre Gravity Republic Downhill team. With key feedback from Loic Bruni we were able to completely revamp our gravity protection offering and show the world what the future of downhill really looks like.

All-Mountain riding is what most people think of when they think of mountain biking – Ascending, descending and everything in between. We took a step back, reassessed and redeveloped our entire all-mountain collection. We stole technology from our DH and XC offerings to bring you the most technologically sound and solid AM protection in the MTB Market. Dirt jump is our heritage at SIXSIXONE. It’s where we came from and it’s where we’ll always return. We have rekindled our iconic Dirtlid Helmet and also added a DirtLid plus to the product line. We created the Comp Am and EXO collections’, which our DJ pros have been running non-stop. DJ protection exemplifies why we do what we do - to PROTECT FUN and get back up again to take another run with our friends.

We chose the best fit system on the planet, the BOA FS360. The original leader in fit, micro-adjustability and customization to be sure our helmet fit was the best on the market. With a lifetime warranty on the entire BOA System you are Dialed In For Life.

In place of standard EPS foam liners we substituted Contego EPS Foam. Contego Foam is superior to EPS foam with far greater impact absorption. In laboratory testing Contego has been shown to decrease energy transmitted during an impact.

The most common type of impact that occurs during a crash is an angular impact. During an angular impact, a rider’s brain is subjected to strains caused by rotational acceleration. MIPS (Multi-directional Impact Protection System) is a thin liner placed inside the helmet between the shell and the comfort liner. This liner acts similarly to the fluid in your skull and works to reduce the acceleration of your brain.
