Alabama Story A children’s book sparks a lively confrontaon in 1959 Montgomery. A Midwest première by Kenneth Jones. Inspired by true events, Alabama Story centers on Emily Wheelock Reed, a fearless no-nonsense librarian who refuses to remove a children’s book from the state library, despite a campaign spearheaded by the disarming but vocal segregaonist Senator E.W. Higgins. As they move quietly and with humor toward their inevitable confrontaon, a parallel story of childhood friends, Joshua and Lily, a black man and white woman, reflects the personal and polical tensions alive in Montgomery. 2014 Finalist for the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center’s Naonal Playwrights Conference. The 39 Steps A wildly comic thriller by Patrick Barlow. The 39 Steps is a rollicking and riotous spy adventure in which the enrety of Alfred Hitchcock’s 1935 adventure film The 39 Steps, with more than 150 characters, is performed on stage by a cast of only four! Richard Hannay is launched on an engaging mystery to clear himself of a murder charge and save his King all while Scotland Yard doggedly pursues him. This intriguing and boisterous comedy is filled with dangerous femme fatales, dastardly villains, deadly assassins and lightning-fast costume changes. Winner of two Tony Awards and a Drama Desk Award.
