2016 Friends Halloween Weekend

We are very excited you’re joining us for our Friends Weekend!

Included below is information about the weekend. Note: there are a few items that require action (or costume prep!) before you head up to the lodge.

Costumes We invite you to join our staff in dressing up for Friday night’s themed Disco Dance Party and for all of the Halloween festivities on Saturday starting at 2:30pm and going on throughout the night!

Come prepared for two nights of costume fun!

• Friday: Studio 54 – Come see & be seen at the world’s most famous Night Club & Disco! Stars will dance and mingle. Style and fabulous fashion will abound. Fame, fortune and folly will steal the night. Your fellow guests will be among the most interesting, striking & memorable people in the world!

• Saturday: Halloween!

Note: on Saturday, adults and kids get in costume before the 2:30pm fall carnival and stay in costume throughout the night.

Trick or Treating Kids will be trick or treating around the cabins from 6:30-7:30pm on Saturday. If you’d like to have trick or treaters come by your cabin (which hopefully most of you do!), all you’ll need to do is bring a variety of candy or other treats from home and be at your cabin with your door open during this time. Reminder: please bring treats for 150 enthusiastic trick-or-treaters!

Night-time Cabin Monitoring In order for you to enjoy the evening without having to run back to your cabin and check on the kids we’ll have several ‘cabin watchers’ available who will provide cabin monitoring at Evergreen after your kids are asleep.

Friday 9pm -1am Saturday 9pm - 1am

The cabin watchers will tour a group of cabins throughout the night. We will alert you if your kids have woken or if something is needed at your cabin. Please bring your electronic baby monitors as these can help our cabin watchers in their roles. Cost is $30/cabin/night. Exploring Yosemite While we’ll have a lot going on at the lodge, there will definitely be time to venture into Yosemite during your stay. Depending on your schedule, you may want to consider a part-day Yosemite adventure on your way to or from the lodge. There are many great options, including Hetch Hetchy, the Tuolumne & Merced Groves of Giant Sequoias, the High Country (weather permitting) and, of course, Yosemite Valley. If you’d like any information about these or other recreation options ahead of time, feel free to contact our Recreation Department.

Weather We usually enjoy beautiful weather this time of year, but no matter how warm the days get, nights are always cool, so bring layers. Since we are in the mountains it’s best to come prepared for changes in weather and check the latest forecast before heading up. And remember, the pool and hot tub will be open, so bring your SWIMSUITS! Massage We will have a selection of massage treatments available throughout the weekend. To reserve a massage, please contact our Recreation Department ahead of time, as these sell out every year. Yoga & Pilates We are excited to offer Yoga & Pilates during the weekend. We will provide mats, so no need to bring one. See the Daily Activities Calendar for times. Classes always fill up, so after you settle in at the lodge, please sign up at the Recreation Desk ahead of time for the class you’d like to join.
