Lisa and I are excited to welcome you to Charlotte, North Carolina for the 2016 NTMA Fall Conference October 11- 15, 2016! This will be the first time that the conference will be held in Charlotte, The Queen City, and it will be one to remember!

After the daily technology sessions, knowledge bars, and business development tracks, we will have plenty of time for additional networking at the Regiception, first annual NTMA 5k run, NASCAR Hall of Fame and our Cheers to Charlotte closing dinner.

The Charlotte Marriott City Center in modern Uptown will serve as the venue for this year’s conference. Recently renovated, the Charlotte Marriott City Center will provide top of the line accommodations for all attendees. The hotel is conveniently located near Charlotte/Douglas International Airport and the train station, making travel as stress-free as possible.

There will be no shortage of information and networking to take home with you! If you have never attended an NTMA national event, we encourage you to join us in Charlotte to receive the ultimate value of your NTMA membership!

Sincerely,

Herb Homeyer

The Franklin Partnership & PRG Update

Economic Update

People always say to expect the unexpected. This year in politics, that is more true than ever. NTMA’s lobbying firm, The Franklin Partnership, and strategic communications advisors with the Policy Resolution Group (PRG) at Bracewell LLP, will provide key insight into the race for the White House and battle for Congress. With so much uncertainty facing the nation and our businesses, this is an opportunity to not only hear predictions about the elections but also how the outcome will impact manufacturing in America. Don’t miss this chance to hear directly from Washington insiders just weeks before these historic elections.

A popular entertaining public speaker, Donald Broughton is known for taking complicated economic and transportation industry issues and making them easier to understand, and interesting as well. Mr. Broughton joined Avondale Partners in January of 2008 after spending over 12 years at A.G. Edwards. Broughton’s equity research has earned acclaim and is regularly quoted by the Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, Fortune, Forbes, and numerous other national media outlets. He is a frequent guest on CNBC, Nightly Business Report, CNN, Fox, NPR, and other broadcast media. Currently, he is predicting that the power of the industrial recovery, led by fracking was both under-estimated and coming to an abrupt end. Since his downgrade of the Railroad group to Market Underperform in early 2015, the stocks have fallen by over 35%. But, fear not - the consumer both in the U.S. and globally are about to be better than expected.
