  • It is a great time to visit one of Costa Mesas specialty recreation facilities.

In addition to Costa Mesas 29 parks, 27 fi eld locations, and two major sports complexes, residents also have access to various special use facilities, including a skate park, a bark park, a golf course, and a tennis center. Costa Mesa residents are fortunate to have these facilities available for their use, and each year the attendance at these amenities continues to grow!

Built in 2005, the Costa Mesa Skate Park is open to skate boarders and inline skaters of all ages daily, closed on Tuesdays from 9 am 3 pm for maintenance. The 15,000 square foot Skate Park is free to the public, although all participants are required to wear their own helmet and pads, and shares a parking lot with the Costa Mesa Bark Park.

The Costa Mesa Bark Park is located at 970 Arlington Drive and is open Thursday through Tuesday, closed on Wednesdays for maintenance. The small dog park has recently been expanded. The City is currently piloting an artifi cial turf option to enhance the experience within the small bark park. If it is well received, more areas may be installed in the future. Resident feedback is welcome through the website or by emailing the Parks and Community Services Department. We hope to see positive feedback and K-9 satisfaction! Like our Facebook page and visit the Recreation Counter in City Hall to get your own Bark Park car decal.

Costa Mesa Country Club features two 18 hole championship golf courses, a lighted driving range with PGA golf instruction available, coff ee shop and lounge, plus two upstairs banquet rooms handling events from 20 to 500 people. The golf courses, Los Lagos (par 72) and Mesa Linda (par 70), are known for their fantastic playing conditions and fast greens. The practice facility has one of the few lighted grass hitting areas in Orange County, multiple targets in the landing area, two practice putting greens, and a chipping area. The coff ee shop and lounge off er great food and bar specials, patio seating and multiple big screen TVs. Its a great place to come even when youre not golfi ng. The upstairs banquet rooms are spacious with panoramic views of the golf course. The upstairs kitchen and rooms are able to handle events up to 500 people. It is a perfect setting for weddings or any other group events. All facility information is on the website www.costamesacountryclub.com including tee time booking.

The City also makes use of The Costa Mesa Tennis Center, a 12 court lighted public tennis facility operated by HMLTennis, LLC. All staff are USPTA certifi ed and classes are available as early as age four all the way through adult. Summer camps, private/group lessons, and league tournaments are off ered as well.

With so many wonderful and diverse programs and facilities in Costa Mesa, theres sure to be something for everyone!
