The Portrait ProjectEvery year, CIP Bloomington students are paired with social mentors—Indiana University students in the Psychology undergraduate program.
Photobooths were the inspiration for these images. Photos taken in sequence have a special way of showing interaction. Emerging adults come to CIP because successful social interaction is not only highly challenging, but highly challenging for a wide variety of reasons. Our best intervention is to design engagement experiences that are fun, interesting, personal, and—with some effort and imagination on all our parts—meaningful, and even beautiful.

I can speak for staff when I say that each and every year here are CIP brings bigger
and better challenges, but somehow it continues to be more and more rewarding.
We’re really blessed to be in the position to help such talented and amazing individu-
als to realize their potential and build upon their experiences.
I want to especially honor those of you who are transitioning into the next steps of
your lives. Our hope is that you will give the people you meet on your journey ahead
what you’ve given your friends, teachers, and mentors here at CIP–confidence, cour-
age, and the pursuit of happiness.
Wishing you all the best for 2016 and beyond.
