We are called to be architects of the future, not its victims.

developing spaces through abstract formand material

skills: Rhino3D, AutoCAD, VRay, 3D printing, sketching, diagramming, Pho-

toshop, Illustrator, Laser-cutting

A personal favored means of architecture can be found through abstract form, seen through a modernist mindset and artist thought, whilst following constraints of contemporary structure and sustainability.

Exploring the importance of diagramming through a stair study:After observation, I illustrated the stair through rendering, plans,

elevations, and diagrammatic and emblematic construction to better understand circulation.

Focusing on transformation through experimentation and constructed iteration, inspiration was derived from Le Modular by Mies Van Der Rohe. Construction of a large pavilion style space based on my specific body proportions with intention of looking at the juxtaposition of two materials, and investigates relationship and transition of space to space.

Study: Poetry Foundation by John Ronan.

With a goal of pursuing a simplistic redesign of the Poetry Foundation, Small spaces and simple

circulation strategies were explored to create optimal size-to-use spaces.

the design is derived to create a room that conceptualized the Poetry Foundation, having a wrapping effect with the walls and other elements.

line and plane exploration

skills: model-crafting, hand-drafting, gouache

Page 15: 2016 Architecture Portfolio

Through iteration, this exercise was to design an objective as exploiting, highlighting or otherwise exploring some aspect of the block/cube in form and volume through line to plane. Given a specific amount of material and space ratios, implication of the ‘cube’ was conveyed without fulfilling the nature of a complete cube. This exercise allowed for a better understanding of how to create and shape space, as well as, improve craft of museum board and gouache.

As an employee at LDG Architecture + Design, I was able to practice full residential architecture processes, from schematic design to building permits. We worked directly with individual clients who requested home renovations and new building. Working with economic limitations and appropriate code, I learned how to achieve the design intent of the client while being respectful to budget.

While working with CR Architecture + Design I became proficient with AutoCAD by doing basic remodeling for Walgreen stores. An addition of a

consultation room for the pharmacy allowed for a more personal experience for customers.
