Overview2016isquicklycomingtoanend.Duringitscourse,ourRoute66RoadAheadPartnershiphassteadilymovedforwardinitsworktoachievethegoalswe’vesetfortohelpusachieveourmission.Perourmission,ourprimaryfocusistocreateacollaborativeorganizationthatrepresentsandspeakswithonevoiceforallRt.66organizationsandstakeholders.Towardsthatend,thoseinvolvedin,andimpactedby,themissionandgoalsourorganizationisstrivingtoaccomplishmustbekeptinformed.The20163rdQuarterUpdateReportisdesignedforthatpurpose.ItprovidesspecificupdatesonwhatwasbeenworkedonandaccomplishedduringJuly,August,andSeptember2016asregardsourorganization’smissionandeachofitsstatedgoals.Asyoureadthisreport,wehopeyougainasenseofwhatourRoadAheadPartnershipisandwhatweareworkingtoachieve.WewelcomeandencouragefeedbackandquestionsregardingtheRoadAheadPartnershipingeneral,andthis20163rdQuarterUpdateReportinparticular.Pleasefeelfreetoforwardyourthoughts,questions,ideas,andsuggestionsto:[email protected]. ThePreservationWorkingGroupalsodecidedtodevelopa“QuickReferenceGuide”tohistoricpreservationlaws,regulations,standards,incentives,agencies,andorganizationsfortheuseofthesteeringcommittee/organizationboardmembersandincludethedocumentontheorganization’swebsiteforotherstakeholderstouse.Finally,thePreservationWorkingGroupdecidedtodraftapolicystatementforconsiderationbythesteeringcommittee/boardmemberstoguidedecisionsaboutwhentheorganizationbecomesinvolvedinadvocacycampaignsalongRoute66.(Note:TheChairmanisalreadyreceivingrequestsfortheorganization’s“support.”Timeandeffortarenecessaryforeffectiveinvolvementinanyadvocacycampaign,andtheorganizationwillhavetodecidewhenitsinvolvementisappropriate.)
