A Note from the President

Would you please pray with us for the Lord to deepen the current ministry of NSP and for the continued expansion of the mission? Pray for our teams in California and Illinois who remain as focused as ever on reaching the high schools in their states. And pray that God will open doors and provide the leaders to spread this mission nationwide.

‘til every student has heard

Two years ago, we shared our vision to help schools across America when we changed our name to the National School Project. Since then, God has grown NSP’s ministry through the California School Project, Illinois School Project, and beyond.

We’re thrilled with the new places the Lord is taking us. As we prepare for future growth around the country, we have decided to make a simple change.

Going forward, we will operate as the National School Project only, and no longer use “CSP” or “ISP” to identify our teams in California and Illinois. We hope this simplified branding will eliminate some confusion we’ve seen and help word spread more quickly about the mission.

Moving Forward as the National School Project

God has been at work this year – developing leaders and changing lives. Students are learning to witness for Christ. As they step out to reach their school with the gospel, they are growing in key areas of their life such as faith, prayer, boldness, and perseverance. Through their courageous witness, God is bringing many young people to faith in Christ. Many students are now experiencing the hope and forgiveness found only in Christ. Some of these new believers are already active in leading others to Christ, both at their campus and in their homes. Imagine the long-term impact this will have!

Thank you for your partnership with us in this mission. God is changing students’ lives through your prayer, financial investment, and participation.

As we look into the ministry year before us, we are expecting the Lord to do great things. One middle school student recently shared with our team that he believes God could use his club to get the gospel to 800 students this year!

Students, pastors, teachers, and parents are praying for God to bring to their schools a profound spiritual awakening. We have great confidence knowing we serve a great God who hears and answers prayers.

Please continue to pray with us for God to bring awakening to schools across the nation.

Life Change in California Life Change in Illinois

Biggest Rally in the Country!Montclair High School, Montclair, California

The Christian club at Montclair High School hosted an enormous rally this year! The rally was held during lunchtime in the school gym, and the club leaders invited a band called The Whosoevers to speak at the event—to perform and share the gospel. The Whosoevers shared their testimonies of God transforming their lives from heavy metal superstars to “leading a movement to reflect Christ in culture.” An unprecedented 400 students attended the gospel rally, many students came forward to receive prayer, and 40 students indicated first-time decisions for Christ.

The Gospel Goes Out in New Mission FieldsPioneer High School, San Jose, California

San Jose is one of NSP’s three expansion areas in California. One of the schools NSP coached in San Jose, Mountain View High School had a lunch rally where former NFL running back William Green shared the gospel. 160 students came, and one student approached William after the rally. She said, “I’m rich. My dad is a sports agent and buys me everything I could ever want,” but she said she’d been cutting herself and just got out rehab. She told William, “I’ve heard this [the gospel] before, but something clicked. If God can do this with you, God can do this with me.” San Jose is one of many new cities we want to reach and it’s church leaders are encouraged by the presence of NSP:

“San Jose is a lost area and there’s a lot of garbage our teens, our students, are hearing … These kids are hurting, they are lost, they need someone and especially their peers to tell them that God does love them. That they are loved, they are cherished and their sins are no different than mine. This is the message that [NSP] proclaims on these campuses.”

– Keivan Tehrani, Global Outreach Pastor at WestGate Church in San Jose

Boldly Sharing the Good News Again and AgainTorrance High School, Torrance, California

With NSP training them to share their faith, and under the leadership of Ryan (the club president), the Christian club at Torrance High School went witnessing over 13 times this year! In addition to students hearing about Christ for the first time, these regular, personal gospel presentations led to continuing conversations too. One conversation began last year when a club member witnessed to Ryan’s close friend Tommy. This year, Ryan got to talk to Tommy again during a witnessing outing. As a result, he came to every single one of their rallies. He was invited to church and began regularly attending Gardena Valley Baptist Church with Ryan. He is not yet a believer, but he is genuinely seeking and growing more every day!

“Last year, I learned how to share the Gospel in four steps because of NSP. I learned why witnessing actually mattered and I became convinced that people were open to hearing the Gospel. That’s what got me started!” – Ryan

Kristen has led the Christian club for the past four years with the coaching of NSP. At the NSP Fundraising Banquet in Rolling Meadows this year, Kristen shared, “Every year, the Lord has taught me something new. Freshman year was boldness in faith, even as a freshman on the bottom of the food chain. Sophomore year was trusting God’s plan. Junior year was leadership, helping other people step up and take on responsibility and trusting them. Senior year was all about faithfulness, learning that it’s not about the numbers, but rather trusting God still has a plan for Hersey.” Kristen is 1 of over 300 students our team trained this year, and they’re all growing in ways like Kristen.

High School Students Coach Middle School Students

Wheaton North High School, Wheaton, Illinois

NSP has been coaching Wheaton North High School students for several years, but this year they took a creative new step in their coaching and leadership development. The high school students themselves started coaching a middle school! Together, Wheaton North and Monroe Middle School shared the gospel with hundreds of young people. A Monroe student even got to personally lead someone to the Lord while witnessing with a NSP leader! Monroe is one of five middle schools NSP coached around the country as we test what our ministry could look like at the middle school level.

Students Saved through Outreach Now Discipling New Believers

Harper High School, Chicago, Illinois

In 2013, Malik gave his life to Christ and started Bible Club. Harper had been an inner-city school racked by violence, but Malik’s commitment led to many lives to be changed by Christ. His brother Maurice accepted Christ and took over leadership after Malik graduated. Maurice’s best friend Richard came to Christ in the fall of 2016 at an outreach event and joined Bible Club leadership team! All the students at Harper know about Bible Club and many have now heard the gospel because of it. Students are not only hearing but discipling other students, and families are being changed in the southside of Chicago.
