PRINCIPAL’S REPORT
Dear Parents and Guardians of our All Saints’ community, Thank you to everyone who was able to attend our first P&F function for the year last Friday night. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and it was a perfect evening to be outside. Congratulations to the P&F for organising and running the evening. Permission Forms Some students have not yet returned the general ‘Excursion/Incursion: walking to venues around town’ permission form. Please complete this form as soon as possible and return it to the School Office. Without this form completed students, in Yr3 to 6, will not be permitted to attend swimming lessons or AFL sessions as we do not have parental/guardian permission to allow them to leave the school grounds. If you have lost this form please request another form from the Office. Getting Involved P&F Meeting Wednesday night. First meeting for the year begins at 7pm in the school Library. School Board: still looking for interested people to join our School Board. The first meeting will be Wednesday February 24. Please let me know if you are interested in becoming a member of the School Board. Canberra meeting Thank you to those parents and guardians who were able to attend last night’s meeting about the Yr5/6 trip to Canberra later in the year. It was an opportunity to relay information about the trip, to answer any questions and to help organise fundraising events to reduce the cost of the trip.
Leadership Liturgy Each year ALL of our Year 6 student leaders will be presented with their ‘School Leaders’ badge and some students will be presented with a School Captain badge and House Captain badges. This is an important occasion as it is our official recognition of our Year 6 students as student leaders. All parents/guardians are very welcome to attend this Liturgy. There has been a slight change in date, the liturgy will now be held on Monday February 22. The liturgy will begin 2:20pm and will be held in the Hall. Email Communication I am very aware that email is a very convenient and direct method of communication with the school and with individual teachers. Also be aware that Teachers, and Office Staff, do not always have the opportunity to read emails throughout the day so please allow at least 24 hours before a response is made. Emergency notices should be made through a direct call to the Office or in person.
Dates to Remember:

ALL SAINTS’ SCHOOL
APRE REPORT
Year of Mercy
Pope Francis has declared this to be the Jubilee Year of
Mercy. The Church is celebrating this Holy Year of
Mercy, a time of grace, peace, conversion and joy. It is
meant for everyone: people of every age, from far and
near. There is no separation which can prevent the God’s
mercy from reaching and embracing us. In everyday life
a door has several functions and is also full of
symbolism: it marks the separation between inside and outside, and
symbolically marks the separation between sin and the
order of grace;
it permits entry to a new place, and symbolically shows
mercy and not condemnation;
it provides protection, and symbolically it provides
salvation.
This theme ties in nicely with our staff professional
development days where we engaged with Sr Mary
Lawson with the Mercy heritage and how All Saints’
was founded on the Mercy traditions.
New parents Morning tea Tuesday 23 February
A casual get together over a cup of tea/coffee will be on
offer next Tuesday morning at 9:30 for any of our new
parents. This is an opportunity to catch up on any
questions you may have or to meet other new parents.
We will meet at the tuckshop. Looking forward to seeing
you.
Whole school Mass Wednesday 17 Feb
We celebrated our first Eucharistic celebration this
morning. Thank you to Father Peter for making himself
available to celebrate with us and thank you also to the
family and parishioners who could join us. All the
classes presented their Mission Statements and a copy of
these will be on display in the front office foyer.
A class Mass roster will be completed shortly.
Just a thought... If you let go of the past, it no longer has a
hold on you.
Have a great week
Karen

ALL SAINTS’ CATHOLIC SCHOOL – BOONAH
SCHOOL FEE PAYMENT & COLLECTION POLICY
Issuing of Accounts
School fees are issued at the following times:
Term 1 – end of week 3; Terms 2 to 4 – end of week 1.
Fees are due 4 weeks after the date issued. Fees are structured in the following way:
Tuition Fee – the amount charged to educate your child / children
Levies – costs charged for educational activities such as: excursions (swimming lessons, Raw Art visits, Footsteps
Dance Company), stationery and other consumable items, access to Information Technology, maintenance of
buildings, enhancements to the grounds and providing for any new constructions.
Parents/Guardians are asked to pay the account by the nominated due date, which is shown on the account.
Method of Payment
Payment can be made at the School Office by cash, cheque or credit/debit card or by BPay, Direct Deposit and Direct
Debit.
Reminder Notices
This will be the process:
1. One week after the nominated due date a reminder notice will be forwarded to any accounts unpaid.
2. Two weeks after the nominated due date, should accounts continue to remain outstanding, a member of the
Administration Team will make contact to discuss the outstanding fees.
Payment Difficulties
There are times when accounts cannot be paid by the due date. If you are experiencing such difficulties, please contact the
School as soon as possible, preferably before the due date.
From this discussion, assistance, such as extending the time to pay or offering a payment by installments, can be arranged.
Overdue Accounts
On the rare occasions when families fail to pay their account, do not respond to reminder notices and/or do not contact the
School to make alternate arrangements, the School will be forced to consider engaging the services of a professional debt
collection agency.
Please be aware that additional charges will be incurred once the account has been handed to the debt collection agency.
Once the account is handed over the matter effectively passes out of the School’s control and all negotiations for payment
must then be made with the debt collector. Please be aware that this may result in your credit rating be affected.
Concessions
In cases of financial hardship the School will consider offering a concession.
Concession applications must be made with the Principal and are accepted at the commencement of each year (within the
first month) or when a hardship within the family occurs.
Concessions are based in line with Federal Government Poverty Guidelines. The assessment process takes all income into
consideration including: Wages, Youth Allowance, all other Centrelink payments etc; as well as housing costs eg rent or
mortgage.
Concessions on fees are not ongoing and applications must be resubmitted at the commencement of the new
school year.
Should you require further information, please contact the School: Ph. 5463 1322.
Mark this date on your calendars! The date for the 2016 School Fete has been set for
