We went with a group of 17 from Northeastern Seminary, led by Chris Kelley, in conjunction with Jerusalem University College in Israel. The trip was a Master’s level course called “The Historical and Geographical Settings of The Bible.” Our instructor from the college was a very bright and sharp young lady named Aubrey Taylor. On this “field study” course, we visited over 40 sites in Israel, Galilee and Jordan. It was an awe-inspiring, grace-filled and vision-imparting trip for each of us on various levels. There was an educational component; opening and stretching us mentally. There was a spiritual component; God spoke through our field study sessions and helped us know Him in the uniqueness of those locations. There was a social component; in which we met and grew with “formerly” total strangers, who also tenderly prayed for us as my Uncle Tom (who was like a surrogate father to me growing up) passed away while we were there. There was also the equipping component; as we received training to better live, preach and teach His Word. We were wonderfully blessed by our First Baptist Church family, who raised all of the funds to enable Diane to go with me. We are grateful for their abundant kindness and generosity. If you ever have an opportunity to go to Israel, do not hesitate to make the trip. Aubrey called geography “the overlooked why of Biblical events.” There is a depth of understanding the scriptures and an appreciation for them that you gain by actually being there. After having experienced the place where David shepherded his sheep, my bride Diane said, “I will never read Psalm 23 the same way again.” Sept 04, 2016 St.Catharines Ontario Sept 11, 2016 Toronto Ontario Sept 18, 2016 Erie Pennsylvania Sept 25, 2016 Hydeville Vermont Immanuel Baptist Church Rev. My bride Diane and I were privileged to go on an Educational Trip to Israel last month from July 1-17. Some NAB Eastern Association Summer Events!

August 8-12, 2016, The WELL Buffalo provided a summer teens camp near Lake Canandaigua, NY at LeTourneau Christian Camp. Their theme was “Mile 20-Run Wild.” Pastor Mark Crouch, Pastor Shane Glover plus Elisha Reimers, Corey Coogan, and a host of others planned & led the activities. Darrick Castronova is the Founding/Lead Pastor of The WELL Buffalo that has a Bethel campus in Getzville, NY, and is opening a South Towns 2nd campus in September 2016. PTL

Each summer our Eastern Association Churches experience a change of pace and do things like VBS or baptisms in a lake or river, mission trips to other countries or make courageous relocations by signing on to serve with some other congregation.

On Sunday, August 21, 2016, Rich Oppedisano was ordained by the Whitehaven Road Baptist Church Pastors, Leaders & Membership after a thorough vetting by the NAB Eastern Association Credentials Committee and the June 18, 2016, ordination council duly called by Whitehaven Road Baptist Church. Rev. Rich Oppedisano began his ministry with Whitehaven Road Baptist Church in November 2009 & has been serving as Worship and Arts Director. God is the one who “Calls” & “Ordains.” We confirm.

Orchard Community Church of Rochester, NY, has been growing so much so that Senior Pastor Dave Daye, the Elders and membership formed a search team to help secure an Associate Pastor. 1 Corinthians 3:6 says that some plant, some water, but God causes the growth. Pictured above are the six Daye Family members & the six Schuster Family members: Dave/Becky Daye: Lindsay, Ethan, Gibson, Ainsley ~ Al/Rachael Schuster: Jaden, Kiana, Xavier, Tayla. The Schuster’s began in May 2016.

Sunday, July 31, 2016, was a great day at Whitehaven Road Baptist Church of Grand Island, NY, with 10am Worship, 12pm Barbecue & 2pm Baptism of 21 new believers in the Niagara River at Beaver Island State Park. Pictured above are two of the baptized: Paul Kwiatkowski

and Stephanie McGowan who in faith followed the Lord Jesus in the waters of baptism on Sunday, July 31, before becoming Mr. & Mrs. Kwiatkowskii on Saturday, August 6, 2016.

The enthusiastic gathering of believers listened intently to Dr. Arnie Guin’s message on the purpose of marriage, feasted on the barbecued delights, and praised Jesus as they witnessed the

baptism of these new believers young, old and somewhere between. Arnie said that marriage requires work as we speak the truth, learn to forgive, die to self and hold fast (pour cement) while being on mission with Christ and for Him ~ Ephesians 5:31 ESV, “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one.”

Certificate of Ordination at WRBC.

Can you identify this happy, tall young man and where he serves his Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ?

Ryan Dewey, Student Ministry Director, joined the staff of Whitehaven Road Baptist Church during the summer of 2016. After graduating from Geneva College Dewey spent time in Pennsylvania and Ohio serving as a Youth Director, but he is now back home in Western New York. His life verses are Romans 1:16 & 8:38-39. He serves so that teens will come to know & trust in Jesus as their Lord & Savor and grow through knowing Him.
