1 2015 ERYC Valley Tastings Youth Awards Information & Nomination Form Eagle River Youth Coalition will be honoring local youth at the 9th annual Valley Tastings: Food for Youth event - Thursday, October 1 st , 2015 from 6:30-9:00pm at the Donovan Pavilion. And, ERYC wants to hear from YOU – who do you think deserves to be recognized? Two awards (see descriptions on page 2) will be given out to winners, who will be recognized during the October 1 st event. Below is information on the selection criteria, as well as short nomination forms. These awards are generously supported by The Colorado Trust and Kaiser Permanente. We want to help you share the story of local youth who have blossomed under your guidance and support. Let the community know what great work they are accomplishing and the leadership roles they’re taking to make a difference. Nominate today! Nominees judged on: - Development and growth as a leader and community member (at large or within smaller community such as school) - Exhibited commitment to an organization, cause, or program, as well as collaboration with adult leaders, other youth, and other organizations - Work shows ability to work with and for peoples of diverse backgrounds - Demonstrated contributions to an organization, program, or cause and resulting positive changes Criteria: - Each nominee may be nominated in one of the two award categories - Nominees must have been involved with Eagle River Youth Coalition or a partnering agency within the past two years (Aug. 2013- Aug. 2015). Awards

Summiteer: Recipients of this award have reached a pinnacle. They exemplify youth involvement in the community, taking on roles that make their name synonymous with leadership. They have a track record of contributions made to the community and resulting positive changes. Recipients of this award have a different perspective and a wide open mind. They are creative, innovative, risk-takers and don’t easily back down from a challenge to bring about change.

Legacy Builder: Recipients of this award are a sounding voice for and supporters of their peers or those younger. They are youth who work hard for their generation and those to come as leaders, volunteers, program developers and grass root planners. Recipients of this award are on the move, helping to bridge gaps through education, outreach and program opportunities. They bring the voice of youth to the forefront to bring about changes in policies or practices.
