Territory Rendezvous
Thur. July 16th –
Sat. July 18th
Heartland
Conference & Retreat Center
Marengo, OH
Greetings Voyagers, The Coureur de Bois Chapter along with the great State of Ohio will have the honor of hosting our 2015 Voyager Territory Rendezvous. The State of Ohio has always played a pivotal role in the history and development of our nation. From its early habitation of Native Americans to its early frontier forts and dominions to the days of early Frontiersman conquest, Ohio has been at the very crossroads of America. I’m sure you will find the Ohio hills and fields to be an excellent venue for reenactment and adventure! As always we have much planned. Competition will abound. You will have many opportunities to display your frontiersman like skills. Above all, we desire to welcome the presence of the Lord and allow God to do something significant in our lives as we gather together in unity to worship God in this Central Ohio glade. Come, Voyagers, set up your lodges, contribute to what can be the most memorable gathering we have had to date. Enjoy the many activities planned for Old Timers and Young Bucks alike. Who can resist the smell of wood smoke, the crack of the rifle and the sight of countless lanterns dotting the night? We hope to see you there! I am Sirs, your most obedient servant, Pastor Dan Davidson – “Polecat” Assistant Territorial Representative

Rick “Simon Tanner” Dostal Rick serves at General Council Assemblies of God headquarters in the U.S. MAPS department as U.S. MAPS Construction Representative in U.S. Missions division. Rick believes that his career change from the national Royal Rangers office is another way the Lord has provided for the Royal Rangers and RV Volunteers to move into a new dimension to work together. U.S. MAPS Church Teams and RV’ers are doing the same thing Royal Rangers call Bronze Pathfinders trips! Rick came to the national Royal Rangers office with his wife Maggie and daughter Hannah from Oakley, California in February 2000. Rick and Maggie have been married for 35 years and have one daughter, Hannah who has completed her PhD in Education with an emphasis in Literacy Studies and Deafness at University of Tennessee. Rick is originally from Oklahoma and his family moved to Southern California when he was 12 years old. A job change moved the Dostal’s to Northern California in 1992. They resided there until their relocation to Springfield, Missouri. He was a building inspector in Northern and Southern California for 10 years before his appointment to the national RR office. Prior to his career as a building inspector he was a construction superintendent and journeyman carpenter. He still maintains four International Code Council (ICC) building inspector certifications and is an active member in the local chapter, Southern Missouri Code Officials for building inspectors and code officials. He came to the national Royal Ranger office to fill the position of National Training and Camps Coordinator. His responsibilities included National Training Camps, Camp Eagle Rock development, and Camporama coordination. His responsibilities changed to National FCF President and Camp Eagle Rock Coordinator in March of 2003. If you really want to see Rick get “excited” just start talking about Frontiersmen Camping Fellowship. You will see that in the Royal Rangers ministry this is his passion, second only to seeing boys coming to the altars. Rick said that FCF is a very special and unique tool that God has provided for commanders to Reach and Keep more boys for Christ. The fun part of FCF is the Teaching! What more exciting thing is there than to see a potential FCF’er build his first Flint and Steel fire or stick his first tomahawk. Or take that new FCF’er to his first Trace or Rendezvous and watch him learn to trade for his first piece of an outfit or learn to spin a yarn. Tell me this ministry is not the most awesome experience a Royal Ranger Commander could be involved in! Rick has been involved in the Royal Ranger Ministry since 1978. He served as FCF President for six years in Northern California/Nevada and as FCF Vice-president, FCF Divisional Rep., and Sectional, Area, Senior, Trail Ranger, Trailblazer, Pioneer, Buckaroo, Straight Arrow Commander and Discovery Rangers. He has also served as a Deacon, Sunday school Superintendent and teacher. Currently he is the Outpost Coordinator of Life360 Church, Outpost 360 and Adventure Rangers Commander. Rick’s interests include spending time with his family, camping, and hunting. He enjoys speaking at FCF events, Royal Rangers Pow Wows, and Men’s camps. His vision is to see all of our boys have the opportunity to ask Jesus Christ our Master Ranger into their heart as Lord and Savior and then to train them up in the Ranger way so as to become real Men, Warriors for God.
2015 VOYAGER TERRITORY RENDEZVOUS NOTES
• Those attending camp must be active FCF members • Participants should strive to be in FCF attire soon after arrival and for the duration of
the camp. • No hand guns are allowed at Royal Rangers events. • No loaded firearms are allowed in camp (this includes percussion caps). • There are to be no modern shelters in the area designated as primitive. • Lighting is to be period as well. If you must have Coleman or electric lights these are
to remain inside your shelter. • All modern items, such as water containers and coolers, should be covered. This will
make photography much more authentic in appearance. • Your fires are your responsibility. Keep them under control. Firefighting equipment
(sand and water buckets) should be on hand in your camp. • First aid will be available at the registration camp. • Campers are responsible for all their actions. • Schedules, event results, news and notices will be posted at the registration area. • Absolutely no dogs or pets allowed in camp. • Commanders are responsible for the safety and well being of boys in their care. Be
aware of where and what they are doing. • Quiet time is the hours of 11pm to daylight. Please be kind to those around you. • All vehicles will come in on the service road, unload, and then be driven back to
parking lot. After camp is over and you have packed, have your camp completely ready to load prior to bringing in your vehicle, quickly load and take vehicle back to the parking lot.
• Shooting will be supervised by an official NRA/NMLRA range master. • All persons shooting a black powder firearm must have an approved black powder
card to present to the range officers. This may be the FCF shooters card, NRA Certification card, or NMLRA Certification card. All shooters must have their firearm checked by a range officer prior to shooting.
• All garbage and trash will be hauled away; we will clean the entire camp. • All persons under 18 at the time of the rendezvous must have the "permission slip"
signed by parent or guardian authorizing them to shoot and handle a firearm - Black Powder/Knife Permission Slip.
