Supervisor: Josemaria de Churtichaga
University of Toronto
Sticks is Canadian, from Ontario.
The client is the Hart House Farm, a 150
acre property cradled in the Caledon hills
on the ridge of the Niagara Escarpment
about one hour from Toronto.
The project outline is to design a 100
square foot bunk house on the Hart House
Farm Property. The bunk will be a part of
a larger master plan of the farm, to be
completed in stages.

Project selected for design build
University of Toronto
Stones is a Spaniard.
The client is Mallorca island, a paradise
on earth with an amazing humanized
landscape, a human nature miracle.
The project is the reconstruction of the roof
on a portion of the existing building. One
of the primary objectives of the design is
how to use light as a building material.
The walls of the existing building are up
to one meter thick, the play between the
heaviness of stone and how light enters
the building was of constant importance.

Our proposition for the Dufferin Grove
Community Centre fi nds its roots based in
timber construction, its materiality, and the
structural celebration of its capabilities.
Wood was a clear choice for a community
center, as it brings with it a sense of warmth
and intimacy while celebrating the hand
of the maker upon it.
It is important to us that the Community
Centre does not overwhelm its occupants
with technology or new age material,
but instead allows them to gaze upon a
structural system that is innovative and
achievable at the same time.

Nunavuts relative isolation from the
rest of the nation has made it a territory
dependent on importation.
As such, functioning port infrastructures
have become imperative in sustaining
its communities. With little to export in
return incoming shipments will often leave
behind empty shipping containers.
In October of 2012, the Housing
Corporation initiated the sale of 1000 of
these units to government departments,
local housing agencies, and the general
public.

Superstudio Fall 2013
Supervisor: Stephen Verderber
University of Toronto
Superstudio aimed to explore design at
an urban scale through the redesign of a
changing neighborhood in Toronto along
Dufferin Street between College and Bloor
Streets.
This proposal looked at food security in
urban environments and how to rethink
how we add density into cities.
By increasing open spaces and
encouraging the community to take
ownership of public spaces and parks
though various food production programs
and infrastructure
