HEART OF AN EAGLEENCOURAGEMENT

"Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it." Proverbs 4:23

"Therefore encourage one another and build each other up." I Thessalonians 5:11a

Beyond a shadow of doubt, positive, collaborative and constructiverelationships are critical and required among the students, parents, and theschool community if we are to fulfill the mission of our school. The core of thisrelationship is the HEART of an Eagle and the second part of this HEART isEncouragement. Our expectation is to promote a positive community throughall interactions.

Encouragement can come from various sources. Please consider thefollowing words from some known and some unknown sources."In the middle of every difficulty lies opportunity." Albert Einstein

"A word of encouragement during a failure is worth more than an hour ofpraise after success." Unknown

"Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experienceof trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired andsuccess achieved." Helen Keller

"Fall seven times. Stand up eight." Unknown

"When you get to your wits end, you will find that God lives there." Unknown

"God brings men onto deep waters not to drown them, but to cleansethem."John Aughey

"It doesn't matter who you are or where you come from. The ability to triumphalways begins and ends with God." Unknown

"When life knocks you down, try to land on your back because if you can lookup, you can see your strength and you can get up." Unknown

"Life is 10% of what happens to me and 90% how I react to it." CharlesSwindoll

"You have never really lived until you have done something for someone whocan never repay you." Unknown

"There's much you cannot change, but there's something you can change,You." Rick Warren

Encouragement from the above sources can indeed be helpful, but ourgreatest source of encouragement comes from the pages of Scripture.

Isaiah 41:10 "So do not fear, for I am with you, do not be dismayed for I amyour God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with myrighteous right hand."

Psalm 46:13 "God is our refuge and strength, an everpresent help in trouble. Therefore we need not fear though the earth gives way and the mountains fallinto the heart of the sea."

Psalm 55:22 "Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; He willnever let you fall."

Proverbs 3:56 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your ownunderstanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make yourpaths straight."

John 16:33 "I have told you these things so that in me you can have peace. Inthis world you will have trouble. But take heart. I have overcome the world."

Psalm 23:4 "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, Iwill not fear; for you are with me."

Philippians 4:67 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, byprayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God, and thePeace of God which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts andminds in Christ Jesus."

Colossians 3:15 "Let the Peace of Christ rule in your hearts."

Yes, that means that we can every day and in every way, let go of our fears, concerns and failures and let God live and work through each of us. Christhas accomplished everything for us. He is always ready to forgive and blessus with His Spirit and power. There simply is no greater motivation orencouragement.

Continue each day to develop and strengthen the HEART of an Eagle.
