Assessment Task 4: The following should be provided for each learning task: 1) A brief statement of the purpose of the task and how it relates to the key learning outcomes: Summative Essay 2) A brief description of what students are being asked to do to fulfil the requirements for completion of the task: Essay Topic: Is it possible for an actor to play ‘style’? If so, what does ‘naturalism’ mean to you as an actor? If not; again, what does such a term mean to you? Discuss the above statement with reference to your Acting and Theatre Practice work this semester. Your answer should include arguments, discussion and examples sourced from your own work in Acting classes and Projects. These may also be drawn from journal records and actual experiences throughout the semester. It must also include the opinions and arguments of other secondary published material. Please also note: Unaccredited, unpublished, non-peer reviewed citations (including unaccredited internet sites) will not be deemed valid secondary material and will impact upon the assessment of your work. Plagiarism is an unacceptable practice within the sphere of your response to this essay. Please refer to the Course Description for a more detailed explanation of Fed. Uni. Policy in this respect. Length: 1,500 words Due Date: Sunday of Week 8 at Midnight. 3) A clear statement of the criteria that will be used to grade the task: Develop a cogent and sustained argument addressing the essay topic. Demonstrate an ability to actively reflect upon practical work.

Weightings of each criterion are an equal proportional percentage of the overall weighting of the Acting Essay (10%)
