NCIAI 2015 Training Conference Contests The NCIAI will be holding three contests this year at the conference. Only NCIAI members may submit an entry. LATENT PRINT HIT OF THE YEAR This contest will recognize the most difficult, challenging, “hurt your head” latent print identification. The identification could have been made through either a database search or a manual comparison. It can be either a latent fingerprint or a palm print. For the contest, make a poster presentation including your name, agency, type of crime and indicate if the identification was made via a manual comparison or through a database search. The entry should include images of the latent print and the known print and images of the marked latent print and the corresponding marked known print (4 total images). The images must be at least 8”x10” and should be enlarged at a 10:1 ratio. NCIAI CASE OF THE YEAR This contest will recognize the case where forensics played a major part, either through crime scene documentation or processing, latent print identification, or other forensic resources which assisted the case. It will be up to the presenter how they wish to display their submission (poster presentation, 8”x10” photographs, crime scene drawing etc.). Please include your name, agency, type of crime and a brief synopsis of the case. PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST There will be two categories in this contest. One will be the Best Forensic Image and the other will be an Open Category. The Forensic Image entry must be from an actual case. Images must be at least 8”x10” and mounted on an 8”x10” board. Please include on the back of your entry your name, agency and details about the image - what it illustrates, how it was photographed (lighting, etc.) and which category (open or forensic) you are entering. Any questions, please contact Doreen Huntington at [email protected]
