In 1970, a collaborative effort among local citizens to raise funds for social services became the Montgomery United Fund For You.

Page 4: 2015 MUFFY Campaign Presentation

Since that time, MUFFY has raised over $13.3 million dollars for the Montgomery County community.

MUFFY can invest in the positive growth of our community because YOU invest in MUFFY.

MUFFY was established to make it easier and more convenient for donors to give to one united fund.

Instead of fielding hundreds of individual charity solicitations, MUFFY donors can be secure in knowing their gifts automatically go to 18 nonprofit organizations throughout Montgomery County.

MUFFY is the only nonprofit organization in Montgomery County authorized to collect funds through payroll deduction.

Page 16: 2015 MUFFY Campaign Presentation

Payroll deduction authorizes your company to take a small amount from your salary each pay period and forward it to MUFFY.

Page 17: 2015 MUFFY Campaign Presentation

MUFFY then distributes the funds to its partner organizations every month, giving them a steady stream of income with which to help those in need.

“Kevin and I would like to encourage anyone on the fence about becoming a mentor to take the leap…while the program is designed to help local children, you will be amazed with how much your own life will change as well!”

--Sammi Froedge, JUMP Mentor

A lifetime resident of Montgomery County 9 years ago found herself being dropped off at the Family Crisis Shelter after suffering yet another round of domestic violence by her husband. She had no money, no vehicle and no safe place to stay for herself or her two small children.

She received not only a safe place to live during her time at the shelter but also counseling services, help with resume building and interviewing skills, help with budgeting so she could save money for down payments on an apartment, new educational opportunities and job skills to improve her chances of getting a good job.

“After the fire we had, without the Red Cross and MUFFY being involved, I think we would’ve been bitter, a little lost. We could’ve taken that big negative fire and said ‘why world, or why God, did this happen?” Instead, MUFFY provided compassionate people and generous individuals who came out and basically took that negative and turned it into a huge, huge positive.”

--Chris Francis, American Red Cross volunteer

The Montgomery United Fund For You benefits from donations and payroll deductions from Montgomery County’s biggest industries as well as local-minded small businesses, professionals, residents and our area’s robust agricultural community.

For forty-five years, MUFFY has harnessed the power and the generosity of these people to help eradicate issues of maltreatment, economic disadvantage and impairment by funding the organizations that make a difference.
