EC34In August 2011 the Marist College community unexpectedly lost men’s lacrosse midfielder Edward Coombs prior to his sophomore year. Coombs lost his life in a car accident near his hometown of Horsham Township, Pa. Each member of the Marist men’s lacrosse team wears a patch of a black circle with the white ini-tials EC on their jersey to honor his life. The Red Foxes started a new tradition this year and whill choose a different senior at the beginning of each season to wear Coombs’ no. 34. Current senior goalie Dave Scarcello was the inaugural recipient of this honor. Eddie was a well-respected member of the Marist com-munity by staff and students.
