2015 Kawasaki 1400 GTR

Characterised by impressive Supersport credentials and comfortable long-distance touring potential, the 2015 1400GTR stands out amongst its two-wheeled peers.

Building on the transcontinental performance of its predecessor, the new updated model adds a number of changes for maximum comfort, along with some engine and chassis fine-tuning for increased riding pleasure.

The new Kawasaki 1400GTR is designed for distance offering supreme comfort and touring ability-matched to refined Supersport performance.  This well-known and well-loved machine features a powerful VVT equipped in-line four engine with a superb spread of immense torque and power, allied to a responsive suspension and monocoque style chassis.  With a new aerodynamically optimised wind-screen plus an ergonomically sculpted supportive seat and some great additional genuine accessory options, the latest 1400GTR shrinks even the largest maps and confidently crosses the widest of continents.

Based on the legendary ZZR1400 powerplant, this in-line four engine features innovative variable hydraulic valve-timing. Whether travelling on a marathon journey or a sporty weekend sprint, the 1,352cc in-line four is up to the challenge.

Ergonomically the GTR has been enhanced with an all-new sculpted seat. Offering better ground reach, it’s matched by a passenger seat with increased width and a flatter, more supportive shape.

Adding to the huge list of new-for-2015- features, a new windscreen (still electronically adjustable), now incorporates a new directional vent.  Adjustable in two open positions, it eradicates low-pressure areas in the cockpit area and offers better air-flow characteristics over the rider’s helmet.

To further enhance the rider friendly character of the GTR, Keyless ignition, KTRC advanced traction control, Tyre Pressure Monitors, power mode settings an Economical Riding Indicator and adjustable heated handlebar grips each deliver a carefree ride in any conditions. The 12V DC outlet allows the rider to charge a mobile phone or GPS on the go and the handy glove box with an electromagnetic lock offers safe storage of small items.

The slim and rigid aluminium monocoque frame works in harmony with the high quality suspension and linked front and rear braking system with K-ACT ABS.  The adjustable inverted 43mm front suspension and remote preload adjuster rear shock offer adjustability while radial mount Nissin caliper supplies smooth, assured stopping power.  Completing the package is the unique Tetra-Lever drive system which reduces the unwanted lifting or squatting “shaft drive effect” when accelerating.

Standing apart from the rest, the 1400GTR features integrated 37 litre colour-coded panniers as standard plus optional 47 litre top case, underlining the 1400GTR’s long-distance capacity.  Furthermore, no distasteful brackets are needed for mounting the luggage system onto the bike as, like all 2015 Kawasaki models, the 1400GTR features a clean mounting system which allows panniers to be fit directly to the grab rail and footpeg supports. Yet another practical feature is the One-Key system which is standard on all genuine luggage.

Discover the 2015 model and enjoy the ride, alone or in the company of another.  Expanding horizons or enjoying familiar roads has never been so accessible and satisfying. The uprated 1400GTR has been conceived and constructed to go the distance in comfort and style
