Energy Processing Canada has been the exclusive voice of the downstream oil and gas industry since 1968, a distinction held by no other publication. By downstream, we don’t mean gas pumps and stations, but everything to do with the oil or gas molecule once it leaves the wellhead.

With thousands of readers, this monthly publication reaches the ready-to-buy decision-makers, you can’t do any better than to include Energy Processing Canada in your media buy.

JANUARY-FEBRUARY | GPAC ANNUAL YEAR IN REVIEW- 25TH ANNIVERSARY ISSUEEnergy Processing Canada first conceived the Year In Review for its January-February 1989 issue. There were two associations at

that time, the Canadian Gas Processors and Canadian Gas Processors Suppliers associations. We presented an essential annual report, featuring news and events from the 1988 association year.

Let’s make this anniversary year of the GPAC Year In Review a publication to remember, with messages from members companies and a full recap of the activities of 2014.

PRODUCT SHOWCASE | VALVES, METERS, INSTRUMENTATIONYou can’t run a facility without proper control, flow, inventory, and actuation. This is why these three product segments are included in

one dynamic package. New products and practical applications, case histories, and success stories will be included with your product offerings, making this issue a must-read for both engineers and producers.

PIPELINES TODAY | AUTOMATIONFrom central control systems at head or field office, to large metering facilities, to wellsite location of sensors and actuators, we will

look at pipeline automation and the advances made to control flow in this critical environment. SPACE DEADLINE: JANUARY 2 | MATERIAL DEADLINE: JANUARY 10

MARCH-APRIL | HEALTH, SAFETY, ENVIRONMENT, SECURITYWorkplace safety is part of our culture today, so much so that it has become an integral part of any project undertaken in the oil and gas

industry. We deal with safety issues in our editorial lineup all year, but this is a special focus edition that will deal with all issues related to safety. If you are a producer or a contractor, you will find fertile ground in this issue, and your message, whether it be a product or a service, or an innovative way to keep your people safe, happy, and on the job, we will be talking about it. And in an overall sense, we will be dealing with the environmental safety of the industry, as we all need to live on this planet, and we want to leave a green legacy while we provide for the current energy needs of the world.

This issue will also be over-printed and distributed at the Petroleum Safety Conference, held May 5-7, 2015, in beautiful Banff, Alberta. There can be no better place to hold a major conference on safety than the showpiece of our national park system. Your message will be seen by the thousands who participate in this conference.

PRODUCT SHOWCASE | PUMPS, MOTORS, COMPRESSORSAnother important element of the oil and gas supply chain are those products which serve to move petroleum and derivatives from the

wellhead to the processing facility, and beyond to the downstream markets. This issue also includes gas compression, the operation, maintenance, application, design, and build stages of a gas compression facility.

PIPELINES TODAY | SAFETYTying in with the general theme of this issue, we will deal with the specific aspects of pipeline safety, including testing of new and

existing lines. NDT, valve safety, inspection, and continuous monitoring- all these aspects will be discussed.SPACE DEADLINE: FEBRUARY 20 | MATERIAL DEADLINE: FEBRUARY 27

MAY-JUNE | GLOBAL PETROLEUM SHOW- JUNE 9-11, 2015This major international event is now a yearly show, starting in 2015, and this edition of Energy Processing Canada will be the one that

goes to the show. We’ve had a booth at the GPS for many years, and we will be your vehicle to get yourself noticed. It is almost impossible to secure a booth if you have not participated before, but we over-print and distribute thousands of this issue to your customers at the show.

REFININGFor the first time in years, grass-roots refineries are being built in Canada, lessening our dependence on foreign refiners, and securing a bet-

ter price for our oil and gas resources. Refining the molecule at home makes sense for the producer and the country, and we are moving ahead.Northwest Redwater is being built just northeast of Edmonton, scheduled for completion in 2017 at a cost of $5.4 billion. Husky has

earmarked $700 million for refining and upgrader facilities, and Suncor is going ahead with another $700 million in refining capacity. These projects, combined with proposed LNG facilities, make for a refining issue that you will want to participate in.

PIPELINES TODAY | NEW PRODUCTSBuilding a pipeline is a complicated business, from securing permission from all stakeholder to final commissioning. It is not just about

sticking pipe in the ground, and a vast array of products are needed to make any pipeline a success. We will feature some of these products, especially the new and innovative, and give them the ink they deserve.

SPACE DEADLINE: APRIL 24 | MATERIAL DEADLINE: MAY 7

Energy Processing Canada has been the exclusive voice of the down-stream oil and gas industry since 1968, a distinction held by no other publication. By downstream, we don’t mean gas pumps and stations, but everything to do with the oil or gas molecule once it leaves the wellhead.

Our editorial mandate is to cover the broad gamut of the down-stream processing industry, from pipelines, compressor stations, and gas processing plants, to metering stations, refineries, oilsands devel-opment, and heavy oil installations.

We are also the magazine of choice for the engineering community. We showcase their projects, contracted by the producer, and feature a produc-er in every issue of the magazine. It is a tight, synergistic community, one that seeks to maximize the economic value of the oil and gas plays that are discovered, building grass roots facilities or expanding existing plants.

Energy Processing Canada also acts as a product showcase for several important sectors of the downstream industry, giving the producer a glimpse at what the manufacturer has on offer to maximize profit and potential to the facility for which they are designed.

Pipelines are being built to de-bottleneck production, and facilities are being built to take up the extra capacity that is designed into each new project. The downstream indus-try is experiencing a major upturn, with tens of billions being spent on pipelines, refineries, grass roots gas plants, oilsands SAGD facilities, LNG mega-projects, and a host of other infrastructure builds that keep the industry functioning at peak efficiency.

We feature an engineering firm and a producer every issue, and every mag-azine contains an edition of “Pipelines Today”, an overview of activity in the dynamic pipelines sector of our indus-try. Each issue also contains a supplier profile, which is read with interest by the producer segment.

For the best in downstream cover-age, and for the best reach into the offices that make the buying decisions, you can’t do any better than to include Energy Processing Canada in your media buy.

JULY-AUGUST | FOCUS ON THE GAS PLANTIn talking with a principal at a mid-sized engineering firm in Calgary, he estimated that there was about $10 billion in gas plant work

being done in the Canadian market at this time, from deep-cut build-outs to SAGD facilities and grass-roots gas plants. There is a lot of current activity, but even without new construction there are billions being spent just to maintain the vast infrastructure

that makes up the national gas processing industry. We will focus on products and projects, and if you’re involved in any of this activity, this is an issue to be included in.

GAS PLANT WALL CHARTThis exciting new product, a wall chart with a generic gas plant at its centre, is a must buy if you have a product that is an important

part of a gas plant. This giant wall chart will feature your ad and others around the perimeter of the chart, and point the way to the loca-tion of your product group. We promise that there will be no more than one competitor advertising on the chart, and if you buy a double space, you will be alone in your products category.

PIPELINES TODAY | PIPELINES & THE PRODUCER- THE CASH NEXUSProducers build and maintain thousands of kilometers of pipelines over the life of a particular field. The simple fact is that they need to

get product to market, and to do that they need to build tie-ins which take the production from a single well in a field to a main line. They need to seek all the necessary approvals, find the money to build the line, and meter it properly so that they get paid. We will explore the nature of producer-owned pipelines, and discuss the relationship between the producer and the transmission company. Sometimes it’s giants talking to giants, but the small producers build load as well.

SPACE DEADLINE: JUNE 26 | MATERIAL DEADLINE: JULY 3

SEPTEMBER-OCTOBER | OILSANDS & HEAVY OILFrom a fringe product developed at great cost by local producers, Canada’s oilsands have become a world-class game changer. This is true for

Alberta, for Canada, and for the hundreds of Canadian and international entities involved in the game. Production costs, transportation challenges, environmental concerns, misinformed press, and commodity differentials- regardless of these challenges, this bonanza is being brought to market, with millions more barrels per day slated over the next decade. We will fully explore the complex nature of this important energy sector.

MAINTENANCE & TURNAROUNDSEven if the industry was stagnant, there would still be billions spent on upgrading and maintaining the vast infrastructure that keeps

product moving to a receptive market. When an industry is active, like our oil and gas business today, keeping operations running smoothly is even more important. Just as in a new plant, thousands of products need to be replaced on a regular basis, and we’ll discuss mainte-nance issues, from breakdown to predictive. Your product line should be featured here, as this is bread and butter to many companies.

PIPELINES TODAY | CONSTRUCTION- METHODS AND PROJECTSInherent in any pipeline is the fact that it covers so much area and that the topography is so varied. Pipeliners contend with a multitude

of logistical challenges that do not exist for any other builder in the oil and gas industry, and we’ll discuss the issues that are identified and dealt with. We’ll also list some major projects that are either projected or in the process of completion.

SPACE DEADLINE: AUGUST 21 | MATERIAL DEADLINE: AUGUST 28

NOVEMBER-DECEMBER | CANADIAN ENGINEERING SERVICES DIRECTORYWe have long produced directories for the service end of the industry, but this directory is unique, and specific. In response to demand from both

engineering firms and producers, we have decided to produce a comprehensive directory of engineering firms that do business in the Canadian oil and gas industry. No one keeps an up to date list of companies and services, and this directory is one which will be retained for a year, until we publish the next one. The bang for the advertising buck is there, for producers, engineering firms, and for the service industry that sells to both parties.

PRODUCER PROFILE | SMALL CAPSYou’re a publicly traded company, and this is a cash-intensive business. You hope to finance through cash flow, but that is not always pos-

sible. As a result, you need to tell your story to a whole range of potential investors. This is the perfect forum to reach those with money in the industry, both the producer and the downstream service sector. With your ad we’ll give you a company profile, and you can say what you want in this space about your company and its potential. There will be no more than ten small caps in this issue, and it’s first come, first served.

PIPELINES TODAY | THE TRANSMISSION STORYIn this issue, we will focus on the major transmission companies in our industry. They work in a highly regulated environment, and they can’t

just raise line rates if they suffer a shortfall. The balance is delicate, and these majors are in the public spotlight all the time, even as they get pushed by the producer to expand line capacity. We’ll focus on their issues, and on how they keep product flowing, sometimes against the odds.
