richard crosby memorial awardThe Richard Crosby Memorial Award was established in 1976 in honor of Professor Crosby, a member of the English Department from 1952 to 1976. The award is given to a student who excels in the knowledge and appreciation of British literature.

alpha chi national college honor societyThe Colby-Sawyer College chapter of this national honor society recognizes the academic achievement of juniors and seniors. To be eligible for membership a student must rank in the top 10 percent of the junior or senior class and demonstrate the Alpha Chi values of truth and character. Members must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 and rank in the top 35 percent of their class. Honor cords of red, yellow and blue are worn by graduates.

psi chi, the national honor society in psychologyThe purpose of this national honor society in psychology is to encourage, stimulate and maintain excellence in scholarship and to advance the science of psychology. They must have completed at least three college semesters and nine credits of psychology courses and be enrolled in a program of study with strong psychological content. STUDENT RECOGNITION AWARDS
ann gulick awardThis award was established in memory of Ann Gulick ’54 by her classmates. It is presented to the sophomore student who best exemplifies, through voluntary service, the qualities of reliability, loyalty and unselfishness. The recipient of this award is chosen by vote of the sophomore class.

edith stockman ruettinger awardThe gift of a member of the class of 1932, this award is granted to a female student in the liberal arts program who is continuing her education toward a bachelor’s degree. The recipient is selected on the basis of scholarship, character, need and future goals.

gula graves plummer awardThis award is granted to the student or students who have distinguished themselves through the exercise of spiritual and/or moral leadership in the college community, or through academic work informed by their religious commitments.

graduate awardThe Graduate Award is presented each spring to the member of the graduating class whose character and influence most constructively affected the majority of the junior class members. The recipient of this award is chosen by the junior class.
