Brandon Hirt took 1st place in the Hollidaysburg Area Arts Council contest for Historic Preservation Week. His photo and the other finalists will be hanging in the 321 Art Gallery in Hollidaysburg during the month of May.

Dave Hammaker Wins Best of Show in Cumberland
"Dawn at Broken Hill" was selected Best of Show at the AlleganyNational Photography Competition and Exhibition in Cumberland, MD. The
rregion's premier photography show features seventy artists from across the US. The competition and exhibition was juried by Stephen Perloff, founder and editor of the Photo Review. Two of our other members, Brandon Hirt and Matt Stich, also
had photos juried into the competition.
The exhibition will be open at the Saville Gallery in Cumberland, MDthru April 30.

Several of our members have had photos selected for the Blair County Arts Festival Juried Arts Show. Mary Beth Landis, Brandon Hirt,Eric Gaston, Dave Hammaker, Randy Donlan, and John Betting all
had photos accepted into the competition.

1 ) How long have you been into photography?Probably about 50 years. I took a graphic arts classin High School. The teacher loaned us a camera. We got to develp film in the darkroom. Much to the teacher’s delight I took Graphic Arts 2 the next year. I should have applied myself more in the class and done less smoking in the darkroom.
2) What was your first camera?Kodak Instamatic. I think they still sell them on Ebay. If not, Tom Costea probably has one for sale.

4) What is your favorite subject to photograph? Trains, Old Cars, and Rust
5) If you were given the opportunity to photograph any place on the planet, where would you head to first? Alaska
6) If you could go back in time and photograph any historical figure, who would you choose?Julius Ceasar. It would be a blast to tool around Rome in a chariot. I hope he had a cupholder. If he wasn’t available, I would go with Confucius. Did he really say everything he is given credit for?
7) If you could spend a week being taught by any pro photographer, who would you choose?Annie LeibAnnie Leibovitz. I would like to get better at portraits. Why not learn from the best?

This is a premium set of applications for things like noise reduction, HDR, black and whitecoconversions, etc. It was well worth the price when it cost $150, so you definitely want to grab this now

June 25-26 is the Gunfight at the OK Corral at OldBedford Village. This is always a favorite event
for many of our club members.
