Series and Parallel ConnectionsMultiple chambers can be connectedIn series (“S” redundant seal increasing the
reliability of a protector)
In parallel (“P” larger capacity for high powerapplications)
Parallel connections only possible with positiveseal chambers.
Bag chamber section applicationsIn deviated wells should be installed on top.
In vertical wells may be installed on the bottom.

4. Protector Configuration SelectionMajor considerations:
• Compatibility with pump and motor
• Casing clearance when cable is installed
• Use of labyrinth or bag type design.
• Fluid expansión capacity.
• Ratings for temperatura and exposure to chemicals

5. Thrust Bearing Selection
The thrust load rating for the protector bearing should be greater than the highest possible thrust load for the application.
The worst-case scenario, when the flowrate is zero. It should be evaluated to simulate production against a closed production valve.
