• A collaborative process of virtual design, construction and

management of buildings.

• The use of BIM unites design phase; construction phase and post

construction phases (including facility management).

• It means understanding and controlling the data flow through

these phases, ensuring leanness in its handling and therefore

driving efficiency.

(BIM) Task Group to help deliver the objectives of the

Government Construction Strategy and the requirement to

strengthen the public sector’s capability in BIM implementation

with the aim that all central government departments will be

adopting, as a minimum, collaborative Level 2 BIM by 2016.
