Auction Terms

Auction Items

1. All sales are final. No exchanges, refunds, or cancellations.

2. Payment is due in full on the night of the auction and may be made by cash, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or check payable to Wilmington Montessori School.

3. All auction items must be removed from WMS by 12 pm Monday, May 5th.

4. The value of items contributed for the auction has been determined by the donors and is not warranted by the committee for tax purposes or general value.

5. The Auction Chairs and WMS make no representations as to the value of the items. All items are offered in as is condition.

6. The buyer waives any claims for liability against either Wilmington Montessori School or the contributor. Neither Wilmington Montessori School nor the donor is responsible for any personal injuries or damages to property that may result from the use of property or services sold.

7. Check gift certificates for expiration dates and restrictions that may apply. Gift certificates may not be redeemed for cash.

8. Wilmington Montessori School is not responsible for making reservations. All reservations are to be arranged at the mutual convenience of the donor and the purchaser.

9. The display description of the items at the auction overrides the description in the catalog.

10. Wilmington Montessori School reserves the right to enforce the minimum bid price and may withdraw from the auction any item for which the highest bid has not reached a satisfactory level.

Bidding

1. All items in the Silent Auction have bid sheets attached or nearby. Anyone wishing to bid must do so by clearly writing his/her name and bid amount on the next blank line available.

2. Be sure to increase the previous bid by at least the bid increment stated at the top of the bid sheet. Any bids less than this specified amount will be deleted. The highest bidder at the time of the table closing shall be the purchaser.

3. For the Live Auction, to enter a bid, hold up your bid number to signal the Auctioneer or a nearby spotter. The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the purchaser.

4. Auction officials reserve the right to remove any item from the silent auction for presentation during the live auction.

Check-Out Procedure

1. Check-out WILL NOT open before 8:15 pm.

2. The announcer will give a 5 minute warning, a 1 minute warning and a count-down of the final 10 seconds for section closing.

3. Table Assistants will circle the winning bid number and bid amount on the bid sheet, then take the 2 top copies to the check-out station. The pink copy (bottom of 3 part forms) stays on the table so that you can go back to see if your bid won.

4. Check-out Assistants will confirm that the minimum bid and bid intervals have been properly followed.

5. Winning bidders should go to Check-out for payment of item(s). You will be given the top copy of the bid sheet marked paid.

6. Winning bidders will need to go back to the table and show the Table Assistant your receipt to claim your item.

7. If you are winning item is a gift card, you may collect at the Check-out station.

“Summoning Summer” was painted by the children of Room 16 class of 2013-14 and parent Grimly Foret. The artwork was created in March 2014 and April 2014. Grimly Foret took a black and white photograph of the children of Room 16 as they painted the sky with their paint brushes. The photograph was then printed on canvas. The children painted the grass using an acrylic glazing technique that tinted the grass in the photo. Then Grimly created the rainbow above the children. A gloss medium varnish was then applied to embellish brush strokes. The size (L x W) of the painting is 30 x 40 in.
