It sounded impossible but we did it. In 2014 the Northeast Florida Builders Association (NEFBA) partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Jacksonville (HabiJax) to accomplish the goal of completing construction of 25 homes in seven days.

With the assistance of hundreds of volunteers, NEFBA and HabiJax were able to build more than two dozen new homes in Jacksonville’s New Town neighborhood for families who have applied for HabiJax’s homeownership program.

The St. Johns Builders Council completed the construction of two of the homes located at 1381 Prince Street and 1391 West 1st Street in Jacksonville—with the supervision of Bill Lazar (St. Johns Housing Partnership), Andy Chambers and Kenny Braddock (MasterCraft Builder Group). Jerry Dean (Mercedes Premier Homes), Adam Roller (Inland Homes), Jeff Ferguson (Drees Homes), Dennis Ginder (Landon Homes), Ed Paucek (Blackstar Group), and Robert Marshall (World Island Builders).

The Northeast Florida Builders Association has an import legacy of advocating for the builder community and strives to represent members through industry groups, training and effective representation on the issues that affect the construction industry in Northeast Florida.

The St. Johns Builders Council is a part of NEFBA and represents the builder and associate members that do business in St. Johns County.
