ARE YOU BILLING HOURLY OR FLAT RATE?

CLASS BILLING OPTIONS

• Hourly classes will apply a base hourly rate times the number of hours accumulated over a month or session/rolling session. Discounts are given by total number of class

hours. (SEE ARTICLE 5 STEPS TO HOURLY BILLING!)

• Flat Rate classes will charge a specific amount, which is then distributed across all class days within the month or session/rolling session. Discounts are given by total

number of class enrollments. • (SET TUITION RATES & SESSIONS IF NEEDED)

CLASS BILLING: KEY SETTINGS

SESSION- Restricts student enrollment dates to the start and end dates of the session and sets time frame for proration.

ROLLING SESSION- Restricts billing dates and the proration time frame on the rolling session without establishing enrollment drop dates. Also sets start dates for online enrollments.

CLASS BILLING: KEY SETTINGS

BILLING SCHEDULES- User-friendly labels for different frequency billing cycles. Used to indicate which class enrollments will be billed through Global Tuition Charges.

EX: Global Tuition Charges pull lists of enrollments to be billed at the same time, by billing schedule.

Billing Cycle: Determines the time period considered for proration. • Force Month uses the calendar month.• Month/Session recognizes session dates.

CLASS BILLING: KEY SETTINGS

TUITION- The base tuition (undiscounted) for the class over the billing cycle.

When billing hourly, this is the cost per hour over the billing cycle. The cost per hour is generally calculated from the cost of the shortest length class offered.

When billing a flat rate, this is the amount billed for the class each billing cycle.

DISCOUNTS- $ or % breaks on the base tuition price. Assigns discounts for multiple class enrollments, multiple registered students within a family, or special discounts assigned for the whole family.

• Attached to classes through programs.

• Classes are counted across programs.

• A minimum class price can be set by the discount table.

PRORATION- A tool to automatically calculate tuition prices based on the number of hours (Hourly Billing) or percentage of class days (Flat Rate Billing) the student will be actively enrolled in a class over the chosen billing cycle (spanning session dates or a calendar month).

• Includes both blackout schedules and proration for late enrollment or early drop dates.

BLACKOUT SCHEDULES- A tool to prorate tuition automatically for days that your business plans to be closed- like holidays!

• For Hourly classes, these hours are not counted in the total multiplied by the base tuition rate.

• For Flat Rate classes, these dates are removed from the total number of class days in the billing cycle.
