Summer by the Sea

What sort of things can I see, hear, touch, feel and

taste at the beach or seaside during summer?

Page 5: 2014 Five Senses Poetry

If I am standing by the sea on a summer day – what can I see, hear, feel, touch

and taste?

SEE:- Sun glowing in the sky.- Waves crashing against the rocks.- People swimming.- Carpet of golden sand.

HEAR:- Children laughing and playing in the sea.- Seagulls crying- Loud sound of waves

FEEL:- Grains of sand between my fingers.- rocks beneath my feet- Sun as hot as an oven burning my skin.

SMELL:Smell the fresh, cool air.Smell of salt in the airSmell of sizzling sausages on the bbq’s.

TASTE:The salt on my lips; my cold chocolate ice cream which I eat quickly before it drips; cold refreshing drink …

Summer by the Sea

Huge waves crash against the rocky shore. The waves roar like a hungry lion. The saltiness of the ocean tingles on my lips.Jagged rocks scratch and tear at my feet. The air smells fresh and makes me feel alive.
