2014 FIFA WORLD CUP BRAZIL™ (JUNE 12-JULY 13)
It's everyone's game and CBC is inviting Canadians to be part of it. The beautiful game returns to
CBC/Radio-Canada with multi-platform coverage of 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™ from June 12-July 13.
Scott Russell, Craig Forrest and Jon Collins will host the final match of each day's coverage as well as CBC's prime time coverage with in-depth analysis and highlights of the best moments from the day's action. CBC will also provide daytime pre- and post-game coverage from the studio with host Andi Petrillo and analysts Nigel Reed and Craig Forrest providing previews and immediate reaction to each day's matches. Canadian Women's National Team Coach, John Herdman, will join the daytime coverage in the second week of the tournament. In addition, CBC's Brenda Irving and David Amber will be on the ground in Brazil providing additional insight on the atmosphere in and around the host cities through broadcast and social media. For the first time, CBC will offer a two hour prime-time magazine show providing game highlights, analysis and in depth look of the tournament hosted by Scott Russell. Through agreements with Sportsnet, TLN, Fairchild /Talentvision and TVA, CBC/Radio-Canada has made
sure that Canadians will have unprecedented access - in multiple languages including English, French,
Mandarin, Cantonese, Italian and Spanish - to every minute of every game live on TV, online at
cbc.ca/fifaworldcup and through CBC's Brazil 2014 App for iOS and Android devices, available June 11. In
all, CBC will carry more than 230 hours of television coverage from 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™.
CBC's best-in-class production, working alongside FIFA, will provide viewers with a multi-feed viewing
experience to provide a unique view of the games, the 12 cities in which the games are played and the
compelling storylines produced by the global event.
CBC's dedicated website, cbc.ca/fifaworldcup, will keep users updated on the latest news, notes and
highlights from each of the 32 teams, their players and their match-ups as well as overall tournament
broadcast schedules and more.

using #CBCWorldCup. Leading up to and throughout FIFA World Cup™, fans are encouraged to show
their passion for the game by sharing photos and videos demonstrating what makes them Canada's
Super Fans using #SuperFan.
In addition, CBC is proud to partner with CIBC to bring Canadians CIBC Soccer Nation, a five-city viewing
party tour each weekend throughout FIFA World Cup™, bringing the beautiful game to audiences in
communities across the country. Mobile viewing parties will be hosted in Vancouver, Edmonton,
Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto. Additional information will be available at cbcsports.ca/soccernation in
the coming weeks.
BACKGROUNDER
We are now less than one week away from kick off at the 2014 FIFA World Cup™ on CBC.
Twelve host cities will stage 64 matches in the space of 32 days. From the Amazonian North to the
temperate South it is the largest logistical World Cup since USA ’94. All roads lead to Rio de Janeiro
where the World Cup champions will be crowned on Sunday, July 13.
CBC/Radio-Canada is the home of 2014 FIFA World Cup BrazilTM owning the broadcast rights to
the tournament with 70+ hours of prime time and 160+ hours off-prime time coverage.
All games will be carried live TV through CBC, Radio-Canada and our sub-licensee partners.
