Course Location:
All lectures and practical skill classes are held on the Brown University cam-pus in Providence. Our Challenge Day training and drill is held at the Warren Fire Department in Warren, RI.
General Policies: We accept 25 currently enrolled Brown students each summer. Attendance at all class meetings is required for successful completion of the course. Exam and licensing are the responsi-bility of each student upon successful completion of the course. Course tuition is non-refundable.

This 180 hour course introduc-es students to the foundational skills of out of hospital care, including assessment and basic life support for medical emer-gencies and traumatic injuries; basic medication administra-tion; ambulance operations and major incident responses; and medical, legal, and ethical con-siderations of the EMT. Issues pertinent to collegiate EMS ser-vices are explored in depth and emphasis is given to preparing
EMTs to serve at Brown or a similar EMS community.
Students who successfully complete all didactic and psychomotor skills training as outlined by DOT, NREMT, and RI standards are awarded a course com-pletion certificate.
Certified students are eligible to test for licensing as Nationally Registered RI EMTs at the completion of the course.
