When registering for the team time trial, teams should register 1 rider only and then confirm the remainder of the team at packet pick-up/registration. Team Time Trial and Individual Time Trial registration will be online only. There will be no onsite registration for the team time trial or individual time trial.

COLLEGIATE ALL-STARS Get discovered and take your cycling career to the next level! For the 8th consecutive year, the Collegiate All-Stars will be competing in the North Star Grand Prix (formerly Nature Valley Grand Prix), June 11-15, in Minnesota and Wisconsin. The Collegiate All-Stars is a team of the top eight women in collegiate cycling, six of whom are selected from the final Individual Omnium standings at the 2014 CapTech USA Cycling Collegiate Road National Championships in Richmond, Virginia with two discretionary choices by the team director. This is an exciting opportunity that gives visibility and an extra boost to support rising talent: nearly half of the Collegiate All-Stars alumnae have gone on to ride for professional teams in the last five years.
Winners Receive:
free race entry
a generous travel stipend
host housing
ground transportation
coaching and a full team support crew including a manager, mechanic, massage therapist, soigneur and photographer
Additionally, the team will hold a training camp on the Friday through Sunday before the Nature Valley Grand Prix in Menomonie, Wisconsin, and Minneapolis, Minnesota. Menomonie is the location of the race’s 5th stage, offering riders a chance to preview the hilly and challenging course, get to know their teammates and support staff, work on tactics, and review additional situations that are common in the pro peloton, such as receiving assistance from neutral support and the team car and other skills needed to excel in the country’s top stage race for women.. How to qualify: The top three women in the Division I and Division II Collegiate National Road Championship Individual Omniums who are not already going to the North Star Grand Prix with a team will be invited to join the team. Only one qualifying woman per college team will be invited and invitees must have a USAC Road category 1 or 2 license before Friday, June 6 to be eligible. In addition, this year will include two "Coach's Picks", as scouted by Jennifer Reither, Collegiate All Star's newly appointed Director. Reither will choose two qualified racers who, due to an injury or unforeseen circumstance, may not have been able to compete at or had a poor result at Nationals. Reither will be in attendance in Richmond to answer questions and formally invite six women to join the Collegiate All-Stars team. Please visit the team web page, (www.northstarbicyclefestival.com/Collegiate-All-Stars) for more information and look through past team rosters to follow the alumnae who now ride with pro teams. Finally, be sure to mark June 11-15 on your calendar, especially if you will need to rearrange your final exam schedule to take advantage of this great opportunity. Please send questions about the program to Collegiate All-Stars team Manager, John Barron, at [email protected].

TEAM LEADERS’ FORUM
Don’t miss this year’s Team Leaders’ Forum, an opportunity to learn from other club officers and some of
the most successful teams in the country about how to grow and maintain a thriving collegiate cycling team.
The greatest threat to any collegiate cycling team is also the most unavoidable: graduation. What will happen
to your team when the essential officers and strongest racers leave for the real world? Will it fade away, like
so many collegiate cycling teams, or stay strong and continue to grow, perhaps even winning national
championships in the future? Make sure it’s the latter by attending this open forum.
This is your opportunity to ask and answer any kind of questions you have on successfully leading a collegiate
cycling team into the future. Snacks, coffee and soda will be provided.
Topics to be covered:
Maintaining a legacy for your team
Recruitment and retention
Growing women in cycling
Sponsorship and fundraising
Gaining school support and funding
When: Saturday, May 3rd, 9:30-10:30 a.m. EDT
Where: Greater Richmond Convention Center, Room B16
Registration for this event is free, but space is limited to 40 current and future club officers, so make sure
you register as part of your event registration.

RULES AND ELIGIBILITY_______________________________________ The following is an excerpt of USA Cycling National Championships rules. For the full rulebook, please visit:
www.usacycling.org/usa-cycling-rule-book.htm.
ELIGIBILITY AND QUALIFICATIONS 1. All riders/teams must bring this form with them to packet pick-up to verify their full-time status:
http://www.usacycling.org/forms/collegiate/collegiate_nationals_eligibility_form.pdf Riders will not be allowed to start their races without this form.
2. To register, each rider’s Conference Director must first check off that the rider has met both the minimum race requirements (#3-4 below), and qualified for one of the conference’s allocated start spots (#5 below).
3. To compete in the criterium or road race, riders need to have competed as a category A rider in at least three conference mass start races this season, and must hold a USA Cycling Collegiate license.
4. To compete in the team time trial, riders must have competed as a category A rider in at least two races this season, and must hold a USA Cycling Collegiate license. (This means that any category collegiate rider can enter the National Championship TTT event, so long as they have entered two category A TTTs this season.)
5. Each conference is allocated a finite number of start spots in the criterium and road races. To earn one of these spots, in addition to the minimum requirements (#3-4 above), riders must rank highly enough in the conference either as a team or individual. Each conference determines differently how many of these spots go to teams and how many go to individuals, so ask your conference director or team leader for details. If you don’t think you will earn enough points either as a team or individual to qualify, there may be extra start spots available from other conferences, so ask your conference director.
6. For each gender, teams may enter up to 6 riders in the road race, 4 riders in the criterium, and one team of 3 to 4 riders in the team time trial (time taken on the third wheel). There are no limits on the number on the number of entrants per team in the ITT, although teams may only enter a total of 8 men and 8 women at the National Championships.
7. Full rules for the event and collegiate cycling in general can be found in sections 6 and 7 of the USA Cycling Rule Book, including explanations of scoring and call-up procedures.
Questions on the eligibility and qualification process for USA Cycling Collegiate Road National Championships should be directed to Emily Palmer, USA Cycling High School and Club Development Coordinator, at 719-434-4202 or [email protected].
EQUIPMENT REGULATIONS
1. Bicycles used in all events must conform to the current UCI and USAC regulations for mass-start legal bicycles.
2. No handlebar extensions, including "aero bars," or other forms of bars offering forearm support, shall be allowed.
3. Wheels used in all events must conform to UCI mass-start legal regulations. The UCI maintains a website with the information of approved wheels which can be found here: http://bit.ly/xKItaW. Wheels that do not require approval must have at least 16 spokes with a maximum dimension of 2.4 mm in any dimension and rims no more than 2.5 cm deep.

2015 WORLD ROAD CYCLING CHAMPIONSHIP _______ _______
The World is Coming
The eyes of the world will be on the Richmond Region for
nine days in September of 2015 as the UCI Road World
Championships returns to the U.S. for the first time since
1986. One thousand of the world’s top cyclists, both men
and women, representing more than 75 nations, will
compete in 12 world championship events.
Richmond was awarded the 2015 UCI Road World Championships in 2011, after a competitive bid between
international cities that included Quebec and Oman. Richmond’s successful bid was driven by a number of
factors, including great fall weather, challenging terrain, hotels, a world-class convention center, strong
financial backing from the local business community and tremendous community support.
And history. Bicycling in Richmond dates to the late 1800's where the Lakeside Wheel Club, which today is the
Bloemendaal House at Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens, was founded as the areas first bicycling club. On
October 22, 1892, 15,000 people crowded Exposition Field to watch a series of track bike races, which were
very popular at the time.
Fast forward to the early 1980s when Richmond hosted a string of international races including the Tour of
America and then the Tour de Trump, which became the Tour DuPont. Richmond was the only city to be
featured in each of the eight years of the Tour de Trump / Tour DuPont, which was operated by Medalist
Sports, a group integral to the planning and implementation of the 2015 World Championships.
A World Championship Opportunity
At the center of Richmond 2015 may be one of the preeminent cycling events in the world, but the
opportunity goes well beyond the racing. The World Championships provides an unprecedented opportunity
to showcase the Richmond Region to a global audience – nearly 450,000 onsite spectators are projected over
the nine-day event, and the television and Internet audience is typically in the hundreds of millions.
Financially, the event is projected to generate an economic impact of nearly $160 million across the
Commonwealth of Virginia, most of which comes from visitor spending during the nine-day event.
With the increased focus and attention on bikes, the World Championships are serving as a catalyst to get
more people on two wheels for recreation, transportation and general fitness. From a master bike plan to bike
infrastructure, from new recreational bicycling events to more bike shops, the region has seen a swift uptick in
all things bicycling.
