Southern Exposure is a national initiative that brings exemplary contemporary and traditional performing arts from Latin America to audiences across the United States. Through a competitive grants process, the program supports touring projects that are collaboratively developed by presenter consortia. As a resource to help facilitate the development of presenter consortia for Southern Exposure projects, Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation (MAAF) provides Consortia Matchmaker listings to connect both those presenters who have already identified an artist/ensemble they would like to present, but need to find presenting partners to create an eligible consortium, as well as those presenters who have not yet identified an artist/ensemble, but would like to become part of a consortium application. Southern Exposure Consortia Matchmaker has two sections.
• Section I is a listing of projects by presenters who have identified an artist or ensemble they would like to present in their communities and are looking for partners to create a consortium eligible to submit an application to the Southern Exposure program.
• Section II is a listing in various formats of presenters who would like to participate in a Southern Exposure consortium application, but haven’t identified an artist or ensemble. This section is organized by region and then by the state that the presenter is located in.
The Consortia Matchmaker is updated weekly with a revised listing posted every Monday. Postings which are new or have been updated in the most recent week are highlighted in red text. Presenters should contact each other directly, not MAAF, to discuss the possibility of working together on an application. Contact information is provided in the listings. This listing includes information collected from presenters. All information, including contact information and artist/ensemble descriptions, has been provided by the respective presenters and has not been edited or verified for accuracy by MAAF. Inclusion in this listing does not constitute approval or endorsement by MAAF of a submitted project or organization. Submitting a listing is not a requirement for submitting an application for consideration to the Southern Exposure program nor will projects that have been developed through the Consortia Matchmaker be given preferential treatment in the review process.
