• iProA, a non-profit making professional organization founded in 1999, is dedicated to the bridging of digital divide in society, and advancing the art & science and proper application of Internet technology.

• We participated in United Nations’ World Summit of the Information Society (WSIS). We were appointed to the Experts Panel of United Nations’ World Summit Award (WSA) as well as served in the Grand Jury representing Hong Kong and China. We were also appointed as a member of the WSA Board of Directors.

• For the "2006-2013 Hong Kong Information and Communications Technology Awards" which is strongly supported by the HKSAR Government, we are the organizer of the "Best Innovation & Research Award".

About WSA Mobile and WSAThe World Summit Award (WSA) was initiated by Austria in 2003 in the framework of the United Nations' World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS). WSA is a global activity to select and promote the world's best e-Content and most innovative ICT applications. It offers a worldwide platform for all who value the creative use of ICTs and who are committed to making today’s information society more inclusive.

About WSA Mobile and WSA• The aims of the contest are to select and

promote the world’s best e-contents and applications. It adopts the bridging of digital divide and narrowing of content gap as its overall goal. This contest is on the worldwide basis and it is anticipated to have over 168 countries to apply and be nominated. Meanwhile, the applications will be evaluated by the Grand Jury formed with national experts from more than 100 countries.

• iProA has been WSA’s official China partner since 2003.

Winners of the 2012 World Summit Award Mobile• World Summit Award Mobile is a major event of the IT sector, the extremely

popular "Angry Birds" is also one of the past winning entries.• Up to 435 entries come from 102 countries and regions. The winners are

selected by more than 30 countries’ experts. The entries from Hong Kong get record-breaking 3 awards last year. Vice President of iProA Mr. Alex Hung, as a National Expert to nominate the following winning entries, are glad to see that and said “The quality and utilization of mobile network in Hong Kong are very high. As an international city and having a close relationship with Mainland China, Hong Kong is a great test bed to ready for entering the huge market of Mainland China and even the international market. Therefore, Hong Kong's works are full of great possibilities. And this competition also shows that the mobile Internet and applications in Hong Kong has been certainly all over the world.”

6. e-Media & Journalism

• Using ICTs to report the news and present stories in an interactive way, crowd sourcing new data and sharing information, presenting the works of citizen journalism using the web for text, picture and video reporting, covering natural disasters, public campaigning, multimedia news, mobile media aggregation and search services; new forms of mobile video and m-&e-TV, movies and current affairs.
