Roles of Cleantech Open Mentors

Generalist Mentors:• Assigned to one specific team (~2 per team)

• One is the “lead” mentor for the entire team of mentors

• ~2-4 hours per week to the team

• Provide general support and feedback across all areas of the business

Specialist Mentors:• Available to all teams in the competition, or assigned to one team

• Examples are legal IP or manufacturing

• Semi-finalists will have access to a long list of specialist mentors and will be

encouraged to contact these mentors when specific help is needed

Sustainability Mentors:• 1 assigned to each team

• Provoke creative thinking on sustainable business practices and help ensure that

sustainability is pervasively incorporated in each team's business plan and

investor pitch

• Trained to coach and mentor in the sustainability field
