Enjoy a splash of art this summer with our renowned art teacher, Ms. Christina! Study the techniques of Modigliani, Van Gogh, Pollock and Kandinski, and then create their own paintings in the styles of these artists. Students will also construct 3-dimensional robots. Color your way in the summer and embrace your inner artists!

Students will learn basic yoga poses, sequences, and breathing techniques to help with flexibility, strength, focus and concentration. Students should wear comfortable , unrestrictive clothing. Yoga mat required. Class will have a few extra mats, but is limited. Some classes may take place outdoors, so please be sure to give permission for your child to have bug spray and sunscreen!

Students will run early each day utilizing the Fayetteville trail system. �ey will explore different types of runs such as the fartlek, the recovery run, and intervals. Students will learn how to choose the right type of shoe, what to wear, how to fuel, and running safety. Above all, the purpose of this academy is to help kids discover that running can be fun! Students should wear cool running clothes (shorts, tennis shoes) and are required to bring a water bottle. Runs will be based upon ability level and will not exceed 2 miles.

Have you been waiting on your Letter of Acceptance to Hogwarts? �e wait is over! Come experience an in-depth and hands on experience inspired by the magical world of Harry Potter written, by J.K. Rowling. Students will make and test potions. �ey will also construct a wand that even would impress Olivander himself. Best of all, play Quidditch and represent your house to win the House Cup! �e possibilities are limitless. We welcome Wizards and Muggles alike.

Tumbling with Ms. Sarah (Grades K-2)

FULL WEEK COST: $160

Learn the fundamentals of tumbling. Geared for students who want to learn gymnastics or cheer leading. Boys and girls will participate in groups to learn proper techniques to gain upper body strength on uneven bars, refine balance and coordination and enjoy learning different types of jumps on trampolines and mats.

DIY! Arts and Crafts with Ms. Heather (Grades 4-7)

FULL WEEK COST: $175

Do you like looking at websites like Pintrest or finding new exciting ways to make crafts? �is is the academy for you! You will explore and create using many different mediums of art including pastels, mosaics, mod podge, watercolors and clay. A bottle cap project will be one you won’t want to miss!

Students will learn how to apply what they have learned to a variety of dishes that can be made at home. Students will learn that food isn’t just delicious but fun too! FULL WEEK COST: $175

Students will travel to the Ozark Bouldering Gym in Spring-dale everyday to learn and challenge themselves on the different wall courses. Learn the proper techniques needed to become a full fledged rock climber. Tennis shoes or climbing shoes required. Signed waiver for use of OBG required.

Explore the fun and fast paced sport of lacrosse focused on the fundamental lacrosse skills. Girls will also learn the importance of cooperation and teamwork. Whether you have played lacrosse before, or this is your first year, this academy will help the development of each and every player!

�is class will dive into the wonderful world of desserts. Among other things, , students will learn about the history of chocolate while making their own truffles. Students will learn how to make cakes, icing and then how to put them together to make their own beautiful creations. Join us for a sweet adventure that you won’t soon forget!

Students will learn the history of photography and the different styles used everyday by professionals. Explore photo editing programs, such as GIMP, on our state of the art Mac books and I-pads. �e students will learn how to use basic photography skills along with seeing our beautiful campus through a different lens. Students will each be provided an I-pad to take pictures.

Summer is a time to explore. So come explore various styles of dance this summer at �e New School. Ms. Amy will offer a daily ballet lesson but will also give students a chance to explore the world of dance. Each day will include an introduction to a different form of dance. Our exploration will culminate a showing for the parent’s on the last day of class.

�ey're dead, decomposing, and coming for your sweet, sweet brains! Will your Zombie Apocalypse Survival Plan succeed? It's a question we must all ask ourselves at some point. Explore the possibilities this summer as you work with your fellow students to create a Zombie movie all your own. Students will write, star in, direct, and edit their very own film depicting the inevitable undead scourge. �ey will play both the plucky survivors and the ravenous members of the shambling horde. �e program will help students improve their writing and cooperative skills, as well as introduce/reinforce technical skills such as the use of i Movie and Garage Band. Join us for a week of rapidly decaying shenanigans!

Do you have an interest in Lego's or computer programming? �en Lego Robotics is for you! Get introduced to engineering challenges by building Lego-based robots to complete different tasks. Every day, you’ll use your imagination to apply gears, sensors, motors, and attachments to customize your Lego Robot. �en using Mind storms NXT software, you’ll program it and compete against other teams in exciting and challenging missions. Some of the competitions include space race, demolition squad, and craziest rescue ever. Have a blast putting your critical thinking and problem solving skills to the test

3rd grade is a ton of fun! Students will learn to organize and start the study process, take effective notes, enrich their vocabulary and manage their time in this fun filled class. Students will be engaged through hands on work, reading, computer and I-pad activities to help them prepare for the next school year. Students will learn that 3rd grade is exciting, challenging and fun.
