SummaryProposal
Theintroductionofanoptionalfaculty-widestudentdonationfeeof$100foreachstudentintheSchoolofHealthStudiesand1st/2ndyearNursingstudents(bothWesternandFanshawesites)intheFacultyofHealthSciencesatWesternUniversity;
Reframingthepurposeandallocationoffunds(80%toeachSchoolCouncil,20%totheFacultyofHealthSciences
StudentsCouncilstudentscanapplytoeitherpooloffunds).Background
TheFacultyofHealthSciencesStudentsCouncilistheonlyfacultystudentscouncilwithoutastudentdonationfee;
Currently,anoptional(opt-out)$100studentdonationfeeiscollectedfromallKinesiologystudentsand3rdand4thyearNursingstudents(WesternandFanshawesites);oOnthewhole,thesestudentsareunawareofwhattheir
currentdonationfeefunds
Feeinadequatelysupportsstudentneeds; NosuchfeeiscollectedfromHealthStudiesstudentsor1st/2nd
yearNursingstudents.
Purpose TofosteragreatersenseofunityandinclusivenessbetweenSchoolswithintheFaculty; ToimprovethestudentexperiencewithineachSchool; Toprovidestudentswithacademicandextracurricular
