BRISBANE
LIONS Coach: Michael Voss Captains: Jonathan Brown, Jed
Adcock Last five years: 10-6-13-15-13 Premierships: 3 (2001-03) Key five: Jonathan Brown, Simon Black,
Matthew Leuenberger, Tom Rockliff , Jack Redden.
One to watch: Dayne Zorko. Already a cult hero at the Lions, Zorko ‘‘The Great’’ sounds like a magician and Brisbane coach Michael Voss will hope the late bloomer can help conjure his midfield into a competitive outfit in 2013.
Ins: Jack Crisp (rookie elevation), Stefan Martin (Melbourne), Brent Moloney (Melbourne), Niall McKeever (rookie elevation), Sam Mayes (North Adelaide SANFL), Marco Paparone (East Fremantle WAFL), Michael Close (North Ballarat U18), Jordon Bourke (Morningside Qld), Nick Hayes (Woodville West-Torrens SANFL).
Outs: Amon Buchanan (retired), Josh Drummond (retired), James Hawksley (delisted), Ben Hudson (Collingwood), Bryce Retzlaff (delisted), Sam Sheldon (delisted), Cheynee Stiller (delisted), Brad Harvey (delisted), Josh Dyson (delisted).

BULLDOGS Coach: Brendan McCartney Captain: Matthew Boyd Last five years: 3-3-4-10-15 Premierships: 1 (1954) Key five: Ryan Griff en, Matthew Boyd, Robert
Murphy, Luke Dahlhaus, Will Minson One to watch: Ayce Cordy. He’s 202cm tall,
but the key forward prospect’s other statistics don’t make such good reading: four years on the Dogs’ list for just 14 games and eight goals. Injury-plagued early in his career and disappointing last year, the Bulldogs desperately need Cordy and Liam Jones to start showing more in attack.
Ins: Tom Campbell (rookie elevation), Nathan Hrovat (Northern U18), Lachie Hunter (Western U18), Jason Johannisen (rookie elevation), Nick Lower (Fremantle), Jack Macrae (Oakleigh U18), Josh Prudden (Murray U18), Koby Stevens (West Coast), Jake Stringer (Bendigo U18), Tom Young (Collingwood).
Outs: Nathan Djerkurra (retired), Lindsay Gilbee (retired), Ryan Hargrave (retired), Tom Hill (delisted), Andrew Hooper (delisted), Brian Lake (Hawthorn), Brodie Moles (delisted), James Mulligan (delisted), Matthew Panos (delisted), Justin Sherman (delisted), Zephaniah Skinner (delisted)

CROWS Coach: Brenton Sanderson Captain: Nathan van Berlo Last five years: 7-5-11-14-3 Premierships: 2 (1997-98) Key five: Sam Jacobs, Taylor Walker, Scott
Thompson, Daniel Talia, Patrick Dangerfield. One to watch: Brad Crouch. Coach Sanderson
can’t contain his glee at being able to unleash the Ballarat-born midfielder. Crouch spent last year on Adelaide’s list but played in the local league as he was too young for the AFL. The 19-year-old’s blend of toughness and grace has seen him dubbed a Patrick Dangerfield clone and in Adelaide there is no higher praise.
Ins: Rory Atkins (Calder U18), Ian Callinan (rookie elevation), Brad Crouch (North Ballarat U18), Angus Graham (Richmond), Sam Siggins (Lauderdale, Tas)
Outs: Michael Doughty (retired), Chris Knights (Richmond), Brad Symes (delisted), Kurt Tippett (Sydney)

CATS Coach: Chris Scott Captain: Joel Selwood Last five years: 2-1-3-1-7 Premierships: 9 (1925, 1931, 1937, 1951-52, 1963,
2007, 2009, 2011) Key five: Joel Selwood, Jimmy Bartel, Steve
Johnson, Tom Hawkins, James Kelly One to watch: Mitch Duncan. The youngest
member of the 2011 premiership team is now a key figure in the Geelong engine-room. And like so many of the Cats midfield, Duncan is just as dangerous when being rested in the forward line.
Ins: Josh Caddy (Gold Coast), Brad Hartman (Sturt SANFL), Hamish McIntosh (North Melbourne), Jared Rivers (Melbourne), Jesse Stringer (rookie elevation), Jackson Thurlow (Launceston, Tas).
Outs: Shannon Byrnes (Melbourne), Tom Gillies (Melbourne), Simon Hogan (retired), Matthew Scarlett (retired), Orren Stephenson (Richmond), David Wojcinski (retired).

GWS
GIANTS Coach: Kevin Sheedy Captains: Phil Davis,
Callan Ward Last year: 18 Premierships: Nil Key five: Callan Ward, Jonathon Patton, Phil
Davis, Jonathan Giles, Toby Greene One to watch: A fit Jonathon Patton. The
Jonathan Brown comparisons that pre-empted Patton’s selection with the No.1 pick in the 2011 draft seemed apt in 2012 - but for all the wrong reasons. Patton was often injured and struggled to train. Great expectations and young key forwards are traditionally a rotten mix, but the fact is Patton will regularly be one of the keys to GWS kicking a winning score.
Ins: Aidan Corr (Northern U18), Sam Frost (rookie elevation), Stephen Gilham (Hawthorn), Kristian Jaksch (Oakleigh U18), Jono O’Rourke (Calder U18), Andrew Phillips (rookie elevation), Lachie Plowman (Calder U18), James Stewart (Sandringham U18), Bret Thornton (Carlton), Lachie Whitfield (Dandenong U18).

EAGLES Coach: John Worsfold Captain: Darren Glass Last five years: 15-11-16-4-5 Premierships: 3 (1992, 1994, 2006) Key five: Nic Naitanui, Dean Cox, Darren Glass,
Mark LeCras, Scott Selwood One to watch: Jack Darling. Only 20, but
he’s already a proven match-winner whose mobility for a key forward makes him hard to stop. Kicked 53 goals last year and will relish a full season alongside fellow goalkicker Josh Kennedy, who was limited to nine games in 2012.
Ins: Adam Carter (South Fremantle WAFL), Brant Colledge (Perth WAFL), Jamie Cripps (St Kilda), Brad Dick (rookie elevation), Mark Hutchings (West Perth WAFL), Cale Morton (Melbourne), Sharrod Wellingham (Collingwood).
Outs: Quinten Lynch (Collingwood), Ryan Neates (delisted), Koby Stevens (Western Bulldogs), Lewis Stevenson (Port Adelaide), Andrew Strijk (delisted), Tom Swift (retired), Gerrick Weedon (delisted)

PORT ADELAIDE
POWER Coach: Ken Hinkley Captain: Travis Boak Last five years: 13-10-10-16-14 Premierships: 1 (2004) Star five: Travis Boak, Brad Ebert, Robbie Gray,
Hamish Hartlett, Justin Westhoff . One to watch: Chad Wingard. A rare bright
light in Port’s dark season last year, Wingard played 19 games in his debut campaign – more than any other top 10 pick of his 2011 draft class. All dash and daring, the left-footer with a ferocious approach is destined to carry a heavier midfield workload in his second season.
Ins: Tom Clurey (Murray U18), Sam Colquhoun (Central Districts SANFL), Campbell Heath (Sydney), Jack Hombsch (Greater Western Sydney), Tom Jonas (rookie elevation), Angus Monfries (Essendon), Jake Neade (North Ballarat U18), Mason Shaw (South Fremantle WAFL), Lewis Stevenson (West Coast), Oliver Wines (Bendigo U18).

TIGERS Coach: Damien Hardwick Captain: Trent Cotchin Last five years:
9-15-15-12-12 Premierships: 10 (1920-21, 1932, 1934, 1943,
1967, 1969, 1973-74, 1980) Key five: Trent Cotchin, Ivan Maric, Brett
Deledio, Jack Riewoldt, Alex Rance One to watch: Ivan Maric. In the space of little
more than 12 months, the mulleted Maric has gone from Adelaide fringe player to Richmond cult figure. And given the Tigers’ lack of ruck depth, he’s also just about the most important player on the list. Unlucky to miss All Australian selection in 2012.
Ins: Troy Chaplin (Port Adelaide), Aaron Edwards (North Melbourne), Chris Knights (Adelaide), Liam McBean (Calder U18), Matt McDonough (Woodville-West Torrens SANFL), Kamdyn McIntosh (Peel WAFL), Nick Vlastuin (Northern U18).
Outs: Andrew Browne (delisted), Daniel Connors (delisted), Angus Graham (Adelaide), Dean MacDonald (delisted), Kelvin Moore (retired), Jayden Post (delisted), Jeromey Webberley (delisted).

SAINTS Coach: Scott Watters Captain: Nick Riewoldt Last five years: 4-2-2-7-9 Premierships: 1 (1966) Key five: Nick Riewoldt, Lenny Hayes, Leigh
Montagna, Stephen Milne, Nick Dal Santo. One to watch: Tom Hickey. It became
increasingly clear in 2012 that Ben McEvoy needed some urgent assistance in the ruck. So the Saints traded for Gold Coast youngster Hickey, who cost them a first-round draft pick. The early signs are promising.
Ins: Trent Dennis-Lane (Sydney), Sam Dunell (rookie elevation), Tom Hickey (Gold Coast), Tom Lee (Claremont), Brodie Murdoch (Glenelg SANFL), Lewis Pierce (Dandenong U18), Dylan Roberton (Fremantle), Josh Saunders (Geelong U18), Spencer White (Western U18), Nathan Wright (Dandenong U18).

Kieren Jack Last five years: 5-12-5-6-1 Premierships: 5 (1909, 1918, 1933, 2005, 2012) Key five: Adam Goodes, Josh Kennedy, Kurt
Tippett, Lewis Jetta, Dan Hannebery One to watch: Kurt Tippett. The reigning
premiers will be a significantly better side if the former Adelaide big man slots seamlessly into his new surrounds. Can he do it? Tippett will have half a season to find his groove – more than likely at full-forward – before the finals start.
Ins: Harry Cunningham (rookie elevation), Matthew Dick (Calder U18), Harry Marsh (East Fremantle WAFL), Tim Membrey (Murray U18), Kurt Tippett (Adelaide), Dean Towers (North Ballarat VFL).
Outs: Trent Dennis-Lane (St Kilda), Nathan Gordon (delisted), Campbell Heath (Port Adelaide), Brett Meredith (delisted), Jarred Moore (delisted), Mark Seaby (delisted), Matt Spangher (Hawthorn).

1947, 1968, 1970, 1972, 1979, 1981-82, 1987, 1995) Key five: Marc Murphy, Chris Judd, Matthew
Kreuzer, Eddie Betts, Michael Jamison. One to watch: Levi Casboult. The Blues are
crying out for a key forward and Casboult showed enough at the tail end of 2012 to suggest he might be the man to answer the call. There’s a lot to like about the elevated rookie, although his goalkicking needs plenty of work.
Ins: Levi Casboult (rookie elevation), Nick Graham (Murray U18), Troy Menzel (Central District SANFL), Tom Temay (Sandringham U18), Zach Tuohy (rookie elevation).
Outs: Paul Bower (delisted), Andrew Collins (delisted, redrafted as rookie), Rohan Kerr (delisted), Jordan Russell (Collingwood), Bret Thornton (Greater Western Sydney).

Cloke, Dayne Beams, Darren Jolly One to watch: Quinten Lynch. Collingwood
expect the former West Coast big man to be an upgrade on the departed Chris Dawes as the second tall target in attack and as ruck back-up for Darren Jolly. One of several experienced recruits who should make an immediate impact.
Ins: Tim Broomhead (Port Adelaide SANFL), Brodie Grundy (Sturt SANFL), Ben Kennedy (Glenelg SANFL), Quinten Lynch (West Coast), Jackson Ramsay (East Perth WAFL), Jordan Russell (Carlton), Marley Williams (rookie elevation), Clinton Young (Hawthorn).

1942, 1946, 1949-50, 1962, 1965, 1984-85, 1993, 2000)
Key five: Jobe Watson, Michael Hurley, Brendon Goddard, Dyson Heppell, Brent Stanton.
One to watch: Joe Daniher. Plenty of good judges predicted the hulking ruck-forward deserved to be the No.1 pick in last year’s national draft. Instead the Bombers were able to snap up the son of Anthony Daniher for a steal at pick No.10 under the father-son rule.
Ins: Jason Ashby (Oakleigh U18), Mark Baguley (rookie elevation), Joe Daniher (Calder U18), Martin Gleeson (North Ballarat U18), Brendon Goddard (St Kilda), Sean Gregory (Calder U18), Will Hamms (Gippsland U18), Nick Kommer (East Perth WAFL), Dylan van Unen (Frankston VFL).

DOCKERS Coach: Ross Lyon Captain: Matthew Pavlich Last five years: 14-14-6-11-6 Premierships: Nil Key five: Matthew Pavlich, Nat Fyfe, Aaron
Sandilands, Luke McPharlin, Hayden Ballantyne One to watch: Michael Walters. Looked to be
headed for the AFL scrapheap early last year after being banished to the WAFL due to his tardy fitness levels. But Walters became an X-factor upon his return, booting 22 goals in the final 10 games of the season. Combines brilliantly with fellow goalsneak Hayden Ballantyne.
Ins: Max Duff y (East Fremantle WAFL), Jack Hannath (Central District SANFL), Clancee Pearce (rookie elevation), Danyle Pearce (Port Adelaide), Josh Simpson (East Fremantle WAFL), Tanner Smith (North Ballarat U18), Lee Spurr (rookie elevation).

SUNS Coach: Guy McKenna Captain: Gary Ablett Last two years: 17-17 Premierships: Nil Key five: Gary Ablett, Harley Bennell, David
Swallow, Nathan Bock, Michael Rischitelli. One to watch: Jaeger O’Meara. The 18-year-
old midfielder has yet to play an AFL game yet but he has already drawn comparisons with Chris Judd and been tipped as a future Suns captain by Gary Ablett. Hopefully he has broad shoulders to go with his freakish AFL talent.
Ins: Greg Broughton (Fremantle), Clay Cameron (Mt Gravatt, Qld), Kyal Horsley (rookie elevation), Tom Murphy (Hawthorn), Jaeger O’Meara (Perth WAFL), Jesse Lonergan (Launceston, Tas), Tim Sumner (Woodville-West Torrens SANFL).

HAWKS Coach: Alastair Clarkson Captain: Luke Hodge Last five years: 1-9-7-3-2 Premierships: 10 (1961, 1971, 1976, 1978, 1983,
1986, 1988-89, 1991, 2008) Key five: Lance Franklin, Sam Mitchell, Josh
Gibson, Luke Hodge, Jarryd Roughead. One to watch: Brian Lake: The ex-Western
Bulldogs two-time All Australian can fix what has been the Hawks’ biggest problem area by taking care of the opposition big forwards. He’s strong, experienced and an excellent reader of the play. But a January incident in which he was picked up by police for drunkenness would have given the club some cause to question his attitude.
Ins: Jed Anderson (NT Thunder), Kaiden Brand (West Adelaide SANFL), Brian Lake (Western Bulldogs), Tim O’Brien (Glenelg SANFL), Jonathan Simpkin (Geelong rookie list), Matt Spangher (Sydney).

KANGAROOS Coach: Brad Scott Captain: Andrew Swallow Last five years: 8-13-9-9-8 Premierships: 4 (1975, 1977, 1996, 1999) Key Five: Andrew Swallow, Jack Ziebell, Daniel
Wells, Drew Petrie, Scott Thompson. One to watch: Daniel Currie. The old adage
about ruckmen taking more time than most to develop is writ large in the case of Daniel Currie. Having spent five years on the Sydney list without cracking it for a senior game, followed by an impressive season in the SANFL with North Adelaide, Currie gets another go on the big stage.

Frawley, Jack Trengove, Mark Jamar. One to watch: Chris Dawes. Hot or cold?
Will we see key-forward who was part of Collingwood’s 2010 premiership campaign? Or the 2012 version, who managed only 16 goals in 23 games for the Magpies?
