I. SCHOOL LEVEL: (Grades I to VI; Grade VII to 4th Year)

1. Have a competition using a test by grade/year level prepared by the school.

2. The top three students per grade/year level who will obtain the highest scoreswill represent the school in the Elimination Round. (Note: the elimination roundis open to ALL interested schools both private and public.! We urge schooldistricts not to have their own elimination to choose contestants forthe whole district.

manner agreed upon in the 3ivision.

7. *est+*%pe 8ritten E#am test materials shall be prepared by 4T- andtransmitted through the 4etroban' branch in the 3ivision / area. The concerned

9ranch 4anager shall turnover the uestionnaires personally to the 3ivision4ath &upervisor at least a day be$ore the Elimination Round. However the pa$-a!e $ontainin! the "#estionnaires shall be opened .#st beore thestart o the $ompetition.

%. ll selected students per grade/year in a school shall ta'e a written test in aplace or center designated by the 3ivision. The test materials shall be preparedby 4T- and transmitted through the 4etroban' branch in the 3ivision.

;. In case there is no 4etroban' branch in the area the test materials shall bedelivered directly to the 3ivision <$$ice/s c/o the &chools 3ivision&uperintendent concerned who shall open the test materials =ust be$ore the

start o$ the competition.

1>.In case the number o$ uestionnaires sent is not enough only the 3ivision 4ath&upervisor or his/her duly trusted representative may photocopy theuestionnaires immediately a$ter opening the pac'age. <nly the e#act numbero$ the uestionnaires will be reproduced. This provision will be included in thememo/advisories issued to the &upervisors to avoid lea'age.

11. 3ivision may have one or more testing centers depending on the distancesbetween the schools the si?e o$ the division and the number o$ participatingschools. It will be $easible to have one center per 3istrict $or the elementary@ $orthe secondary a cluster o$ towns may have one center. cluster o$ 0ity

3ivisions with very $ew secondary schools may also have =ust one center.

2ample &uppose 3ivision has 2> participating schools. Then there will be 2># " or 7> rade I pupils to ta'e the test 7> $or rade II up to rade )I or atotal o$ "7> pupils who will ta'e the test in the 0enter. I$ those 2> schoolsare very $ar $rom each other the 3ivision may have more than one center$or them.

12.The test papers will be corrected using the 'ey provided $or.

1".The winners of the elimination round should be announced immediately after thecompetition, i$ possible then $ollowed by a 3epEd 4emo to $ormali?e the

announcement.

1+.In case the results will not be released because o$ a valid reason (i.e. too manyschools =oined and the assigned correctors will not be able to $inish chec'ing thetest papers on time! the 3ivision 4ath &upervisor should announce be$ore theElimination starts that the results will not be released immediately a$ter thecompetition but a 3epEd memo shall be issued instead.

16.The top individual scorer o$ the whole 3ivision (one ea$h rom Grade VI and 4th %ear) uali$ies to compete at the 3e!ional Indi&id#al Finals In case o$ atie it should be bro'en through the use o$ the uestions prepared by 4T- $orthat purpose.

17.The scores o$ the top two contestants o$ a school by grade/year level shall beadded to $orm the schoolAs score. &uppose the scores o$ the ("! contestants o$$hool in Grade I are as $ollowsB

26.It is desirable that the Team <rals $or the di$$erent grade/year levels $ollow onea$ter the other. However i$ the testing center has enough venues proctors and

=udges the competition o$ two grade/year levels may be conductedsimultaneously.

27.The results o$ the 3ivision 5inals will be announced immediately a$ter thecompetition and a 3epEd memo should be issued to $ormali?e theannouncement. copy o$ the memo should be $urnished to the 3epEd Regional4ath &upervisor $or re$erence in preparation $or the Regional 5inals.

2:./edals will be awarded to the members o$ the top " winning teams pergrade/year level. However, to enable a team to win any of the prizes at stake,i.e. 1 st prize, 2 nd prize, 3 rd prize, the% m#st meet a s$ore o at least 06

points o#t o a pere$t s$ore o 86 points.

individual competition and hosts/ui?masters. He/&he must also endeavor toprovide whatever assistance needed by the 4T- representative.

"1.n /0A8 re!resentative will assist in $acilitating this stage o$ the contestboth in the individual and team competition. He/she will also be responsibleor settlin! all "#estions, in$l#din! protests, whi$h ma% arise in the$o#rse o the $ompetition.

"2.The 4T- representative shall bring the uestionnaires and awarding materialson the date o$ the contest.

"+.5or this competition the contestants must use their code numbers given to themat the registration.

"6.The contestants will be given 1.6 hours to answer the test.

"7.-artial credit will be given to answers in -arts II and III.

":.There may be more than one corrector $or the papers but only one may correcteither -art II or Ill $or the sa'e o$ consistency in the giving o$ partial credit. Eachpaper must be counterchec'ed by a corrector o$ another part o$ the paper.

62.The individual contestants will undergo both written and oral competitions. Theindividual written competition will be administered a day be$ore the oralcompetition.
