2013 Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo - Racing video games with some real flavor

Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the Vision Gran Turismo virtual concept at the 2013 Los Angeles AutoShow. The new prototype was created exclusively for Gran Turismo 6, the racing simulator which isavailable on the PlayStation 3.

embodies the brand's defining design philosophy of sensual purity in a unique way. The design of thisconcept car reflects to extreme effect the perfect symbiosis between emotional, sensuous contours andintelligently presented high tech," says Gorden Wagener, Vice President Design Daimler AG.

According to Mercedes-Benz, the new AMG Vision Gran Turismo Concept is featuring a lot exteriorelements seen on the classic models such as the W196 and 300 SL. Under the hood of the 2013Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo is an AMG V8 engine rated at 577 horsepower and 799 Nm

peak of torque. The engine resources are put to the ground via an AMG Speedshift DCT seven speedtransmission.

In addition, the German concept has only 1,384 kilograms and has also received high-performancebrakes signed by AMG. The performance note ends with the eight tailpipes which can provide a

generous exhaust note.

On the outside, we see a radiator grille inspired by the one found on the 300 SL which is flanked by an

LED headlight set.

"The variable LED grille with different light patterns is a further development of the diamond grilleintroduced with the new A-Class. The majority of the LEDs are arranged to represent five horizontallouvres. When the daytime running lamps are switched on, the centre "louvre" lights up to show thefront aspect that is typical of Mercedes sports cars. When the racing lights are switched on, numerous

LEDs light up in green in the background, like round fog lamps", is said in the official statement.

Inside the cockpit, the 2013 Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo Concept features a lot ofaccessories seen on a Formula 1 cabin. The seats are blended into the floor of the footwell to create aprotective shell. We also see a central display which here is actually a glass surface floating above thesteering wheel. The dashboard looks like two mini-gullwing doors which are located on each side of the
